Ooh, PB, your activities all sound great. Some of them are similar to my own. Except "band" and "rehearsal" is just my husband and I playing together, and I'm fermenting what I hope will be sriracha sauce in the end instead of beer.
1. We started to put up the ceiling and lighting in the workshop, and it is transformative. I'll attach some before and after pics.
2. My husband found a guy that is selling something so easy to make for utterly ridiculous sums of money on eBay, and it's all auction... it's what people are choosing to pay. This is quit-the-day-job kind of money. Once we get the rest of the ceiling up, we need to look into developing a churn-it-out product and see what we can do.
3. I have two and a half kilograms of jalapeños and padron chillies to cook/eat/process before they're no longer edible. I know I'd like to make a green jalapeño taco sauce. Beyond that and the sriracha I'm already attempting, I need ideas. Yesterday we tried green jalapeños stuffed with various things (cream cheese, brie, nutella, etc.) and then fire roasted. The nutella was really good. The brie was better than the cream cheese, but those were both still very nice. But nutella was a revelation.
4. Yesterday was a bonus day... forecast was "shiny cloud", but we got "big sun" instead. It was great, because my husband's commute from work is about 30 seconds, so we spent his breaks and lunch in the garden. And I spent most of the day out there (minus jalapeño processing time).
5. Tom Bukovac has (and sometimes uses!) the same little Blackstar practice amp that I have (and frequently use when I want to practice or play without disturbing my husband), and that made me happy. Now, I know I'm no Tom Bukovac, but we both have the same amp, and that pleases me.
Edit:
P.S. If you are able to see it, we used those "flowers" I shared before as the system for attaching and adjusting the center strip that holds the ceiling panels up. There's one visible just at the end of the light. Three more are on that strip, one at either far end, and at the other end of the light.
