Halfway there (based on when I posted this thread).  I'm excited but stressed out about so many of the things I need to get done before I go.  It seems like I take one step forward and two back, mainly with the PETS program.  Finally found a vet today who actually knew what they were doing.  No matter what you know from the defra site, you need a vet who actually knows what they are doing.  We may have to get our cat re-chipped and re-immunized (not sure yet).  Thankfully our friend is taking him until he can come over with PETS.

Now that I have finished that rant, I can get back to anticipation and giddiness of finally moving to the UK.

 ;D

November 1-15 = My first trip back to Texas since moving to the UK in early 2005!

I'll get to see my mom, my dog, a lot of dear friends and will eat tons of mexican food.
I've already converted some money, so I have some nifty brand spanking new dollars.

Only two paychecks away!  (gosh, better start saving quick!)

Have fun!!!  I wish better weather for you than I had when there in July (during all the crazy rains and flooding and junk)!

Okay, if the visa application is approved (falls down on knees and begs), my leave date is November 8th.   ;D  Had to move the dogs to November 8th on Virgin because my transportation isn't available on the 13th.  Now, to get the visa so I can book MY ticket on November 8.

I worried a lot before I got my FLR, too.  From what I read in some of your other posts, I think some of the same things applied in my case (we had one income, going to live with his parents).  I wish I hadn't worried so much.  Hoping for less stress for you, and a speedy approval.  ;D

Holy crap!  2 weeks!

It's weird because I count down to my husband's arrival instead of my arrival in the UK because for the first time in our married life, we will be reunited without the spectre of saying goodbye in a week to 3 months haunting us.  Almost 6 years of marriage and we will finally be a "NORMAL" couple.

My countdown is short! I move to London tomorrow! Yikes!!!

So far I'll only be there until June, but Dar is sure that before long I will transfer directly to UCL and be living there permanently. We shall see!

Yay!  My favorite time of year and soooo much happening...

October 1st--new term at uni starts.
November 1st--half of my family arrives.  Haven't seen them in 20 months.  Wow.  Can't believe it's been so long!
November 3rd--marry the most wonderful man in the world.  Aaaaw!   ;D

...BUT before all of this, I have to: make an appointment at Croydon for FLR(m) interview, scrape up £595 for said visa, find & book a restaurant for pre-wedding dinner (my family meets his for the first time), and last but CERTAINLY not least...FIND SOMETHING TO WEAR!!!! Yikes.

Deep breath.  Needed that rant.   :)
