i bring back (to the UK) food wise:
karo syrup
butterfingers
jiffy cornmuffin mix
bisquick (lowfat)
cookie mixes (although i've seen them here now)
canned pumpkin (i acutally like pies made from canned more)
annie's mac & cheese
crushed graham crackers (for cheesecakes)
hershey's minatures
large bag of choc chips
Oh goodness, butterfingers, bisquick, chocolate chips and karo syrup... might need to mail a care package to myself from there as well as extra suitcases.  I should get pickles in the case as well, Milwaukee Pickles, yum.  Hard to believe I forgot I missed them.  Also must pack Lucky Charms and Twizzlers (after looking at the sweeties thread).  Thank you all for the ideas... I am seriously writing all these things down!

They arent made in the States I bought some from Farm Foods last week an on the back of the Oreo box it says made in Spain. also how I know they werent made in the States cause the box says Worlds NO 1 Biscuit, us Americans know we dont call cookies biscuits.  ;)  ;D

I just looked at the ones I bought my husband.  They were made in the US.  I guess some are then.

I get Libby's canned pumpkin at Waitrose. My grandma who makes awesome pies says canned is just as good, if not better than, fresh and much less work.

Good to know I'm not the only one who thought they tasted slightly different. I also agree with you about the Dill pickles as well. I also bring back ziploc bags as well. Dh laughs at me when I wash a used ziploc bag that has had food in it so I can use it over & over I think I'm being frugal I think is the word. because if not I would be having my mom & sisters constantly sending me over a new supply of ziploc bags otherwise.   ::)  :P

You can get ziplocs at Costco in the UK.  I stock up every time I go.
I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I don't know the answer.

And quite frankly, even the "not named Ziploc" resealable bags from Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury's and others work just fine, in my opinion.  Haven't had a problem yet.

Sugar Free Torani Syrup (Splenda) - for those of us who love our lattes, but not at the expense of our waistlines or blood sugar.
I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I don't know the answer.

I use them, too. Just generic supermarket resealable freezer bags. Fine 'n' dandy.  :)

I don't know where you're from lissy, but in Pennsylvania there are local foods that you can't even find outside of the greater Philadelphia area like Tastycakes.

I found this hand page of links to other US regional foods--looks like much of it won't travel well!  :)

All my local supermarkets carry them, but they are the smaller twist ones, not sticks or the big, chunky ones.

Yum!
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

Ahhh--but the world of pretzels has exploded in the last few years!  There are wheat ones, honey wheat ones, salt and pepper ones, cheesey ones, purposely burnt ones, no-salt ones, spicy ones, and the list goes on and on--in shapes, sizes and thicknesses!  :D
