Our Thanksgiving went so much better than anticipated! Everything came out perfectly and everyone said they liked everything. They cleaned their plates, that's what matters, right?! lol. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be, either, which is always a blessing I think. We had just enough left overs for the next day.

Just enough?? That's always a good sign.

Glad everyone had a great Thanksgiving. I was a wimp about the long flight and wanted to stay home and be a recluse, but I really am glad I went to see my family and friends. I had a great time!  ;D

Glad you had a good time, Jewlz, despite your misgivings before you left.

When I have my own house, there will be no roast veg at Thanksgiving!  Particularly not parsnips!  It is decreed :)

Ditto. It sounded like your DH certainly enjoyed it (from the other thread, I think).

New to this site, but just wanted to say as a Brit that I love thanksgiving and was more than a little jealous hearing my fiance telling me all about the candied yams, green bean casserole, turkey & stuffing, and pumpkin pie I missed back in November (Yum!).

Can't wait for her to arrive in the UK this year and to see what my English friends think when we host our first Thanksgiving dinner here in the UK.

I'll be thankful that by then we'll have jumped through the first few imigration hoops and tied the knot!
Smoke me a kipper - I'll be back for breakfast!!

My husband was the same way.  He misses some of the American life now that we have moved back to the UK, but we will have Thanksgiving dinners over here anyway. (I actually went home for this past one, but next year we will have one here)  Any excuse for him to have a turkey dinner!  He also doesn;t want our daughter to miss out on American traditions too =oP

I know I'm a little early but with the chill in the air and even some yellow leaves around I can't help but start thinking of this Thanksgiving.  I was feeling quite autumny last weekend and splurged and used my last can of Libby's on a pie.  Now I'm a little worried about T-day and if I'll be able to get some more before then.  Does anyone know if the Libby's crops are back to normal levels this year, and when they should be coming out on the shelves?  I'm going to have my parents send a couple cans if they are out in time.  If not, I'm going to try my luck with a pie pumpkin from a market here!

The pie pumpkins from the market here make really nice pies (and everything else in between!) - I love it when pumpkins are actually available  :)

Mmmm Thanksgiving!  I was thinking of having a T-party myself.  I was invited to a really lovely one (Thanks  :-*) but it conflicts with a concert I'm performing in. So I was (just in the beginning stages of planning) thinking of having one on the Saturday before T-Day
But that depends on a few things, mostly budget.
I've never gotten food on my underpants!

Does anyone have any recommendations for restaurants in London serving Tgiving? Im not really wanted to cook but my husband and his family would all like to go out to eat to celebrate.

Last year a bunch of us just chose a place that was doing a Christmas menu with turkey.  It worked out fine, although I brought pumpkin pie for everyone to eat at home.
