I found the commercial on You Tube and liked the song, but I thought it was just ok. DB thought the same as me. I thought it was cute, just a little drawn out.

What I LOVE is that Mr Gorilla Man really studied video of Phil Collins. I'm positive I've seen footage of Collins doing that shoulder shrug and neck stretch prior to actually playing. Great attention to detail for those of us 80s geeks who remember seeming him performing this!! :D

Huh...I hate this commercial and the main reason is because when he's breaking it down, it's clear he's not hitting the drums in sync with the music and for some reason that drives me NUTS!

Fightin' words girlfriend!! ;)

TBH, I haven't looked at it that closely. It was just the neck and shoulder thing I picked up on. I expect synching it to the real music was probably video editors nightmare!! (assuming Mr Gorilla Hottie isn't multi-talented enough to be a gorilla specialist and a drummer!!!)
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

It doesn't drive me crazy but I did say to hubby when I first saw it that it didn't strike me as being in sync.
Insert wonderfully creative signature here …

I noticed that too. I think that's part of what bothered me too.

so does bono, and he's a crap drummer. but that would in no way stop me from wrestling him naked in a kiddie pool filled with whipped cream.

So have I!  :P

He does, however, have a mild case of wonk-eye, which is completely unacceptable.

The dude who plays the gorilla isn't a famous drummer. but is actually a famous gorilla actor, he acts in movies like planet of the apes...and other films that involve apes/monkeys/gorillas...he had to take lessons to play drums for the commercial.

I won a free t-shirt about a month ago for knowing this.  I'm so proud.  :)

adios,
Carl

OFF TOPIC: Carl and everyone else, what's the name of the M*A*S*H song (and NO looking on Google to find out--you either know it or you're a cheater).

I SWEAR I didn't google this; it's "Suicide Is Painless."  If you watch the movie, they left the vocals in, whereas in the TV show it's just an instrumental.

adios,
Carl
