By the way...just to start an argument...Bushmills is WAAAAAY better than Jamesons.  So much smoother.  And I shall fight anyone who says different.

Hmmm...looks like we're going to have a fight on our hands, Miss Victoria!  ;)
I'll admit, I'm not a huge whisky connoisseur, but Jameson's is the nicest--certainly the most easy to drink--one I've ever tasted.  To me, Bushmills tastes like turpentine.  Bleeeaargh!   ;D

Whiskey drinkin' and fightin' women--how unlady-like!  ;)

I went with the Jameson's mostly because the "offey" didn't have a very big selection--no rare Welsh whiskeys or super expensive ones.  I got a few taster bottles.  A Glenfiddich, a Jack Daniels, and one other I'd never heard of before--I forget now what it was.

I'm sure it will all go down happily with my hubby both literally and figuratively!  His birthday is today and he'll get his gifts tonight so I'll let you know!

Thanks again people!  :)

We prefer single malts around here, but I think that's partly because DH's parents are kind of snobby about their alcohol.  ;)

At the moment we have a bottle of Jura, Talisker, Glenfiddich, and some Grant's blended stuff that I bought on sale a few years ago when I wanted something that didn't feel so expensive to drink.  We've bought all the expensive ones when we were on trips to Spain, though, and they were all cheaper to buy there than in Scotland...go figure.

The Jura is my favorite so far, but I also like Laphroaig and one from Orkney whose name I can't remember.  To be honest, I like most of them just fine--I can hardly taste the difference sometimes!  And even though DH sneers at it, I like Jameson and Kentucky bourbon, too.
