Oreos and Reeses cups!
« on: February 27, 2008, 05:41:51 PM »
We're starting to sell mini Oreos in WHSmith. They're what's called a till point conversation so if you shop there, be prepared to be asked if you want some! As the only American working in my local Smiths, I demanded that everyone try them and they went over pretty well. And yes - they actually taste like proper Oreos! (I've discovered some things taste different, regardless of the name.)

I also found Reeses cups in...get this... Top Shop! They had a display by the till for sweets and whatnot and there they were - lovely chocolately cups filled with sweet smooth peanut butter.

Tesco express is also starting to sell Reeses Nutrageous. Woohoo!! ;D

Reese's p-b cups are getting a bit easier to find around my area it seems.  There's a little local candy shop that has them plus Hershey bars.  They have the Nutrageous, too but I don't like them that much.

Our ASDA has nutrageous bars - and Sainsbury's has Oreos.  If your WHSmith starts selling goldfish crackers, though, I will drive to wherever you are and buy the entire stock!  ;D

our tesco do the mini oreos in those little tubs, sainsburys do the snack pack of regular sized ones. Our asda do the reeses peanut butter cups as well.

Bought a large box of Oreos (multi packs) yesterday at Costco. Also two huge bottles of Hershey's syrup.  :D

A girl in my office proudly gave me a pack of oreos yesterday that she bought at Sainsburys! And my local Morrisions has Reeses Cups right next to the register. I heard a lady say to her husband the other day...Chocolate and Peanut Butter...how disgusting!

Little does she know...

My husband said the same thing about Reese's cups.  I let him think it, so he won't eat mine!  There must be a quite few Americans in the Isleworth area because several of the local shops carry the Reeses cups!  Yeah!

I went to the Good Food show in Birmingham in Nov and one of the stands was just Reeses PB cups, yummy, so I think there is a big marketing push to sell them here.

Just a side note about Hersheys I have heard they are moving their manufacturing to Mexico.  By brother lives in PA not too far from Hershey, I guess the locals are pretty upset.

I'm a  Brit and I love the Resse's peanut butter cups - prefer the small ones though for some reason! Thie big ones they've had in Morrison's for ages.
There's a love/hate thing for them though - at work we bring back sweets when we've been away, and some bring these back when they've been to the States....I was going and someone said "Don't bring those peanut butter ones back" and another insisted I did!
I didn't bring them back last time - but that's because I really like them and having a big bag sat on my desk isn't a good idea when trying to lose weight!  ;D

I really like peanut butter M&M's as well.

Did I hear someone mention Woolworths stocking Hershey's Cookies and Cream?! Mmmmm!

The off licence down the street from where I work carries the Cups and the Nutrageous bars.  And Oreos, come to think of it...
