Is everyone still feeling motivated?

Definitely!  Especially now that so many of us are doing it... and getting ideas I may not have thought of by looking at others' pages.

I love this project. I posted on another thread that I really needed a hobby and this fits the bill perfectly. I'm also really enjoying seeing what other people are up to on a daily basis.

Ok.. here's mine.  :)

Love your life, poor as it is. You may perhaps have some pleasant, thrilling, glorious hours, even in a poorhouse. The setting sun is reflected from the windows of the almshouse as brightly as from the rich man’s abode; the snow melts before its doors as early in the spring. Cultivate property like a garden herb, like sage. Do not trouble yourself much to get new things, whether clothes or friends. Turn the old; return to them. Things do not change; we change. Sell your clothes and keep your thoughts…

I am thinking about doing it, but I am complete rubbish with a camera!  DH is definitely the photographer at our house.  Not sure when to start though - I'd have to figure out how to do it all first, but I'm not tied to a particular date (new year, birthday, etc) really.
Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack, a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in...

Awesome!!

Blogger is really easy to use if you go with that one. I know some folks like Wordpress,  but I haven't tried it. The great thing about it is that you don't have to be a great photographer to do it. It's just 365 snapshots from your life, something you can look back at and remember the year. It's good practice too. I've already figured a few things out about my camera that had been puzzling me. :D

I take rubbish pictures, but it's certainly fun to think about what you can take that sort of represents your day. For me, there will be a lot of work pics I guess, but if I was a stay at home mom, it would be full of kid shots. As much as I love looking at other people's talents, my pics are my own and I'm not too bothered. Perhaps by the end of the year, I will have improved my skills. :)

No time like the present! :)

Chary, saw the latest picture of your pomanders.  What a cool thing to collect.  I wouldn't have ever thought of that one, but I love it!!  What got you in to that and where do you find them?

Just wondering.  ( I'm having fun going back over everyone's pages--such fun stuff and so many fun photos!)

I am having an absolute ball with this!!  I think the thing that has been interesting to me is the fact that I find myself looking at everything closely and noticing all kinds of details I've missed before.  I'm shocked at how many interesting things I walk by every day without seeing them.  Like the etchings in stones in the pavement near a town square or gargoyles and angels on an old Victorian hospital that I often work at.

One other joy was on my way home from work one day.  I stopped and took tons of pictures of multiple very photogenic items--lighthouses, ponies, seashores--items anyone can like.  What did I end up selecting for that day?  -a small portion of rusted out roof of a bomb shelter that is abandoned in an industrial estate.  The yard was full of rubbish, and I should have driven by, but I just wanted to try an experiment.  I played with the angles and curves in the photo and absolutely loved the colours and textures that I ended up with.  I didn't do a single thing to touch it up in the end, just uploaded it to my site. If anyone is curious and wants to see the photo, it's here: http://cadenza.smugmug.com/gallery/4710875_W8yz6#280919854_LpnCi

I have had a couple days that I was trapped indoors by rain and boredom already and had to get creative.  One photo ended up being silly and unremarkable, but today I stretched a bit further and found something that worked okay.  I think this is going to help my skills of observation after a year when I'm already being stretched at one week!  Roll on summer so I can get out and play more!

I managed to revive my camera.  It is sputtering, coughing, and unhappy (it corrupted 25 pictures today), but, I HAD to start (just 7 days before my birthday :P).  The first picture is posted.  Forgive me if some are crap, but, my camera hates me (and is a 10 year old digital).

Mine was a 10-year-old one as well, but I've since upgraded to a 5-6 year-old! Yay!

There are so many people doing this now...it's great! I think I've added everyone here onto my blogroll but if I've missed you, let me know! I'm happy to be added to anyone else's page who wants to add me too.

Now I have to go check out all these new ones!
