Question for all of you Project 365ers.  When you post your pictures to your blog, do they tend to look washed out?  Mine all seem to lose some of the depth of colour.  In my photo album they look amazing and then I post them and they seem very washed out.  I should add that they retain their original state when I email them to people or print them.  I just don't understand why they tend to get washed out on the blog.

I've also a question - what website (host?) do you use for your 365's?
Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack, a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in...

I use Blogger for my 365 and LJ for my personal journal, but, I have the washed out issue with photos on both sites.  :-\\\\

What a very cool idea.  My 'brit' and I are both photographers and we've been keeping a blog together for a while.  We pick a word a week and then each picture has to reflect that word somehow.

Is it just due to blogger resizing it? If you click on the image to view it full-size is it still washed out?
I'm thinking about getting metal legs. It's a risky operation, but it'll be worth it.

I've no idea; sorry.  Sometimes I've had that problem with LJ, but not with Blogger.  Maybe try hosting them somewhere first (like Photobucket or Flickr) then copying the code over, instead of uploading it directly to the blog...?

I use Blogger as well, and have never had a problem with my photos looking washed out.  :)

I use smugmug, which I absolutely love.  There's a small charge in USD, but I have better access to my photo albums (you can't get your original photo size back without paying on the other sites, which annoys me) and the features are good.  If anyone wants to know more, let me know and I'll send you a discount code.

Have you updated yours yet? Your pictures are gorgeous, I love looking at them but its been over a week since new ones have been posted!   :D

hmm... Thats weird. The possiblity exists that some of the detail is lost to compression when uploaded to the site if they try to reduce the file size, but that doesn't seem plausible since no one else is experiencing it. Then again, you could just have a much keener eye for colour than us :D

My only suggestion would be what ~E~ said, just try uploading them somewhere else first. If you want to upload without having to create an account you can use www.imageshack.us

I hope you are able to find a solution!!

ah!  You make my day!!  Thanks so much!  I'm uploading some now.  This is what happens when I'm busy working, my husband is finishing exams, and to get away from the stress he buys himself a new computer game for the evenings.  I haven't been able to get near the computer for more than a few moments all week.  :)

ETA: that's the last time I let him get away with that again.  It's 2 a.m. and I'm just getting to bed after updating all the photos! I'm beat!

Hmmm, I think I might try that.

Ha ha, maybe, but, I doubt it.

Can I just tell you how much I lust after your camera?  I LOVE that camera.  I have a savings just waiting to hit the right amount to buy that baby.

All right, you lot are such a bad influence! I think I'm going to give this a go, starting if when we move to Leeds. Seems as good a time to start as any!
