fitness area
« on: December 07, 2002, 04:25:05 PM »
Hi Leah,

When I first came here I belonged to a support group for weight loss based in England...  but since have dropped it because my time is limited and this forum was much needed with my future move... and I like it here

I opened up about my weight loss here on a topic and it caught a couple eyes that wrote to me privately...but it did not seem to be a popular topic...  now it seems to be doing good with others reaching out for support in this catagory when wench started the topic "shrink me".

Would it be difficult to get an area here for a support group in weight loss, health and fitness...

It is difficult enough to lose weight after years of battling the bulge...I can only imagine how the change from one country to another would add to the difficult task...  I know I am beginning to stress with my upcoming move (one day, errr)

Michele

Of course it's possible, very easy to do. :)

Any chance you'd like to moderate it?  [smiley=charming.gif]

Well there's that Moderator membership fee that Leah requires.... it's £250 and she likes it in cash.
Then of course comes the trial by fire...but it's not too bad, I mean health coverage is free after all and you usually heal in a few days  [smiley=devilish.gif]

I'm sure Leah will email you the rest  :-*

You know I totally missed this post yesterday...

Wenchling, you're a CHEEKY TART  [smiley=evilgrin.gif]

As for the £250 for a moderator 'feel' well that actually goes under the 'support the site' category I believe  ;D

What can I say....I'm a Catholic school girl...fundraising is in my blood  [smiley=devilish.gif]

(oh and the original post has been modified...hee hee )

Great idea for a site section, and I think MsFred would be a great moderator!
Married to Graham, we run our own open-source computer training company in beautiful Wiltshire out of our 1814 Georgian Regency home (a former lodging house and once featured in Antiques Roadshow)

I'll do this in the morning (Wed), msfred has consented to moderating, woohoo!  ;D Any thoughts on the board title?

I'll alter the Clubs and Events category to something like Events and Special Interest, (?) and create it within there. I'll merge the Clubs and Events board while I'm at it.

LOL, a short version from note I just wrote my dear sweet friend Lisa.

Quote
msfred? Lisa, I will hurt you if this name picks up LOL!... you can call me shel, (but never shelly), fredericka or freddie, michele, michael (dad's name for me), or some very close friends are allowed shelba...  but msfred sounds very butch to me for some reason...
;) :-* hoping that I am not stepping on political correctness there.

But of course Leah, O powers that be...  you may call me anything you like  ;D, unless it will cost me 250.00.

Name...  How about "UKY Fitness Club"  any and all suggestions are welcomed here...  just pulled that out of my hat... would like to hear some other thoughts

As well as being moderator to room, I wish to participate with all of the weight reduction related sections... on a personal level...

Also hopefully we will see topics from different area's including weight programs, sports activities and even challenge boards to boost some fun...  Maybe Runner will give us tips on Marathon running and other advise for someone that may wish to pick up on running.

Once in England, some hiking adventures or other sports activities would also be great fun to get together on.  I know I could convince Tom to Command a few hiking or bicycling tours.  Trust that they would be for any and all who wish to attend... no matter what physical shape one may be in.

[smiley=bootyshake.gif] this is actually very exciting...

Anyone that may have suggestions on what they would like with this board, please let me know via here or by message.

Michele
And Leah, thank you very much...   [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
