Dont mean to hi-jack.. but on the sour cream note one thing thats been bugging me is Ive not been able to find low-fat/light sour cream here anywhere (was just in ASDA today looking for it again). Anyone have any ideas? I used to get it all the time in the US and it took the guilt out of eating it!

Never had a problem getting low fat sour cream in Asda or Morrisons

Mashed Potatoes with Ketchup.

After Thanksgiving I can't wait for the day after so I can have a turkey, cranberry sauce and stuffing sandwich.  ;D I've been told that's weird but it's ohhhh so good.

Surely that sandwich is a normal leftover, for boxing day here....I'd have it. Well, apart from the cranberry sauce because I don't really like the combination of sweet and sour.

Mashed potatoes with ketchup - not had for years but love it mixed in....better are leftover mashed potato fried (as in bubble and squeak) and then smothered in ketchup

For me.....

I guess Christmas cake (fruit cake) with Wensleydale cheese, it's a Yorkshire thing.

One recipe I came across once and it's delicious - diced mango topped with fried smoked mackeral and poached egg.

That's not weird!  Perfectly normal.  :)

And I don't think it's strictly a Yorkshire thing either! Fruit cake and sharp cheese is a classic combo. I love it!  :)

Agree with Chary and Mrs Robinson--fruit and cheese is classic.  Many Americans melt cheddar over apple pie!  I never got that myself, but I like my pie unadulterated :).

In college I used to make a tuna casserole thingy that grossed my roommates out because it was tuna, noodles, and ranch dressing.  They said hot ranch dressing was weird.  I haven't eaten that in years, but I still like weird noodle things.  In Japan, I used to eat soba  with tuna or egg mayonnaise--it was sold pre-packaged in convenience shops.  Now I make it myself.  Also, omelet sandwiches topped with shredded lettuce that's been tossed in a creamy dressing.  I can't make those here unfortunately because I can't get the right kind of dressing, but they were delicious!  Japan definitely weirded out my eating habits.

I love (but my family refuse to watch me eat) bananas wrapped in ham and baked in a cheese sauce.  I also love smoked mackerel as a pizza topping.

I like skittles and cheez-its. Satisfies the sweet/salty craving. Salty popcorn works in a pinch, too.

I put cream of tomato soup in my mac'n'cheese (along with extra cheese).

Strawberries dipped in sour cream, optional brown sugar sprinkled on top.

Cream cheese and salami sandwiches. If you run out of bread, you can spread a little cream cheese on the salami and roll it up.
