What's weirder on the Momma Mia connection that I found out from back tracing, is that the guy who played Mr Darcy from Momma Mia was opposite Kiera Knightley.

No, Matthew Macfadyen played Mr Darcy in the Keira Knightley version of Pride and Prejudice.

Colin Firth (the Mamma Mia cast member) played Mr Darcy in this production of Price and Prejudice - with Firth playing opposite Jennifer Ehle.

Are we talking about the same girl tho?  With the green dress to die for?

Yes, the 'green dress' woman from Atonement is indeed Keira Knightley.  Now, if she only had something (besides a skeleton) to fill out said dress...  ;) :P

(But Keira is not in Mamma Mia, and she didn't play Elizabeth opposite Colin Firth in Price and Prejudice.)

I don't spend all my time in the internet.

It's only when a particular movie intrigues me because somebody looks familiar that I use the internet to check things out.  Or in the case of Atonement, because of the rabid, unhinged sex appeal of that green dress.  Or the bra the actress was wearing in the last Indiana Jones movie - I needed to find out who she was.  Otherwise I just watch the movie and that's that.  Unless they wear a special dress, or a special bra, I can go blissfully through life not having a clue about who Kiera Knightley or Kate Blanchett is.

But now I can see I'm not as clued in as some of the others here.

BUT to be fair, I looked in here FIRST about Momma Mia, and nobody had commented on it's connection to James Bond.  And to be TOTALLY fair, that's a good indication that nobody had noticed it.

You don't have to be online to know things about films. Newspapers, magazines, television ... it's all there! Bras, dresses and all!

Then you might note it's MAmma Mia (as pointed out earlier in this thread), and it is NOT a good indication, as it's common knowledge, so why mention it.  Nothing to do with spending time on the internet.

Very much so.

I'm confused by why you seem to get a kick out of pointing out bras and dresses, particularly on a board that's mostly women.  It is creepy.

I know that someone will want to take the trouble to dig up threads where some of the girls here have said lustful things about guys/actors, etc.   Fair enough.
But... eeeewww.  Something about Garry saying it, and other drooly comments he's made in the past - especially the one about online photos of a former member here -  just kind of ... yuk.  :-X
Just my opinion.

It's an indication that it is taken as read.

I would guess that anyone who has heard of the film 'Mamma Mia' knows that Pierce Brosnan is in it, and that he played Bond a few times.

Just as we all knew that Cate Blanchett was in the newest Indy film, and that Samuel L Jackson has been in...well...tons of movies.

I would appreciate a head's up the next time somebody interesting is going to be in something.  It's good to know there are so many people clued in.  A PM is fine.

To the swivel-eyed bunny boilers who voiced objections to my observations, I'm sorry.

Garry, you are fabulous!   :-*

But how do we know who you will find interesting?

I'm guessing you understand neither the cinematic origin nor the actual meaning of this expression.
