You guys had to do a letter of intent? Intent for what? probably a stupid question but wondering why I didn't have to do it:)

it took so much research to figure out exactly what they wanted for the visitor visa...that is why I am a little nervous about getting all my info and docs ready for the marriage visa...I am so glad I belong to this thread so I can ask all of you ladies when I do it.

Patty you and Ian got in a fight over a tie...he needs to calm down...does he know how stressed you are getting stuff for the wedding ready and working...I am glad things are better and he will be fine when he comes over.

Carey I am sorry that you and David had a fight...I was like Patty when Jason and I would have an argument or fight I would be miserable till we talked again and worked it thru...

Carey you are looking forward to biometrics lol...I have been thru it twice and it is interesting watching them do the digital fingerprints and then they take your picture...

Beth is your apartment sparkling since your maid was there? Do you feel like your rich lol

Jamie - you are "supposed" to provide a letter of intent saying what your plans are, why you are applying for the visa, when you would like the visa issued etc.  Apparently, they sometimes dont care about it since you didnt do one!  I have read that the sponsor is also supposed to supply one so that basically it shows that you are after the same thing.  Silly, but I guess it makes sense. (esp for a fiance visa since the sponsor will be supporting you)

One thing I am learning is that when you are in the position to be making huge plans (ie getting married!), everyone's stress level is obviously higher and we need to be more careful when speaking just over the phone as things are so easily misconstrued or misunderstood.  Especially when coupled with the frustration that both people are feeling that they just want to be together.  I am sure you picked the best tie ever, Patty :)

digitalsea: i would definitely talk to them to see if you can have your job back when you return.  i had a part-time retail job while in school and they took me back on and off for years.

That's true, it doesn't hurt to ask!

Josy, and anyone else, I would be happy to email you my Table of Contents for my spousal visa application if you ever need it. It outlines exactly what is in my app (since it's a 1" binder and about 100 pages at least). Obviously, you would adjust it to fit your specific application. Just PM me and I'll send it to you. I'm quite proud of it. I've put in hours of work on it and it is quite organized... shoot... organiSed. :) Is it bad that I almost want to take pictures of it?? hahaha.

Well DH says he has the bank statements so he SHOULD get those over to me today or tomorrow before noon, as that's when I'm leaving work to go to my biometrics appointment. **fingers crossed** (p.s. thanks for telling me they take your picture! Now at least I know to do my hair nicely). After that I will going directly to the post office to overnight it to the courier. By then my bank account should be sufficiently drained. I've started to realise that I only have about 2 paychecks left, out of which I have to still pay rent, taxes, last phone bil, and whatever else. And I REALLY want to do some shopping, but I can't! :( It's killing me.

I'm trying to wear lipstick today. It's very strange. I never wear lipstick. Usually hate it. I kindof like the look, but don't like how it gets on everything and I'm very conscous of it. I'm usually a very natural girl when it comes to that... don't even wear gloss (DH doesn't like it being all sticky and slick and getting all over). But I had a sudden urge to wear lipstick and feel all girly and grown up. I read an article once about how in poor economic times, cosmetics, especially lipstick, still sell very well. Lipstick because it is cheap and makes women feel good. Anyone here a regualr lipstick wearer? I've never tried those long lasting lipsticks. I don't want them to dry out my lips and look wrinkly. Plus I never wanted to waste the money if I didn't like it. It takes a lot of searching to find a great shade.

How is everyone today? We're past Monday!

chi: good luck!

i have always wanted to be a regular lipstick wearer but my lips don't seme to do well with it...i usually just go with a tinted lip gloss instead.

Yeah, that was short lived. I already wiped it off. It was coming off anyway! Maybe I'll try lipliner/lipgloss combination next time.

we get fire alarms pulled all the time where i work...whenever a student doesn't want to take a final exam, basically!  the worst was when i was teaching and didn't have my coat with me, and had to go out and stand in the snow wearing short sleeves!

LOL re: lipstick!  I cant wear it either, but I always have chapstick or gloss on. Come to think of it, I dont really know anyone who wears lipstick other than my mom - liner and all!

We had a fire alarm yesterday and I just stayed at my computer and then got yelled at.  I decided that I didnt smell smoke, so I was ok, but I guess thats not the rule :)

Chi, I am still months away from having to do one, but could you send me your table of contents?  I'd like to share it with David so he can have a heads up on what HE will need to provide. Thank you!!

I have had a sh*t morning and now my boss is in talking to her boss with the door closed and I am having major anxiety/paranoia that she is talking to him about me for some reason.  Ugh!

Its my best friends birthday today and I am just feeling so blaaahhhh and cant force myself to be all "WOO HOORRRAAYY its your birthday!" Double Ugh.

That's so weird because when I printed the application it didn't ask for any of that stuff! And when we went in she asked us to take our little packet apart and just give her the stuff she needed she didn't have "time" to look through it:) Must be different between going in and postal.  I couldn't imagine waiting 14 weeks for anything that's why we spent the extra £200! Gosh I hope you all get your answers soon!!! I really don't believe they will deny you for a visa when your already married unless that person is like forging documents or something.  You ladies have NOTHING to worry about!!!

Woot!  Thanks, Chi! :)

I think the only thing we AREN'T doing that you've done, Chi is submit Ian's birth certificate, but I think he said he's bringing it with him JUST in case.

And you got away with a 1" binder?  I read somewhere that someone applied for the same visa, and had to use a 5" binder!  I'm thinking "Did you put yourself in that binder!?" lol

And, what if I did like, a pink binder?  Or is that too much? :p

HOPEFULLY you get those bank statements from DH today.  Keep us posted!

And only 15 more days until Ian arrives!!!  WOOOOO HOOOO!!!

So how is everyone doing besides being busy, and getting ready for tons of things.  How's the apartment looking, Beth? :)

I'm watching the news, and this one reporter looks kinda skanky today, and she normally NEVER does.  I'm weirded out by this....lol.
