it will still feel like FOREVER

Nah.  I have a feeling it will fly by with all te things I need to do before then!

Tim and I use Skype all the time, but just to chat.  He even worked out that his wifi signal goes out into the garden, so he's going to get a bluetooth headset for his laptop so he can talk to me while he's gardening :)  We just never felt the need for the cameras before, but I have a feeling we might get them.  I found one that clips onto the top of your laptop that looks like it would work for us.

Cameras DEFINITELY help.  I don't know if Ian and I could've survived our relationship without seeing each other when we're apart.

We don't use Skype though because we think the video quality is better on MSN....although, the new MSN is pretty much rubbish.

I had a logitech several years ago that was just crap, so we'd have to get new ones.

The main reason I'm balking at it is I only have 2 USB ports on my laptop, and one port gets permanently used by my wireless mouse.  I have a hub, but my iPod won't update or charge through the hub, and the old webcam wouldn't work through the hub.

And I really don't want to feel like I'm "on display". I don't know.  If Tim really wants to get them, then we'll use them.  But I'm probably not going to push for them.

Oh, I'm so glad I'm not the only one who misses the older version, hehe. It's actually disconcerting not being able to see my camera in my little window thingy, I keep thinking my camera is broken :P That and it's a bit choppy, we tried to downgrade but it messed up our copy of the older version :(

Logitech is nice, I have one and it's pretty decent, since all I need it to do is work properly :) We definitely couldn't have gone through the past couple years without it, it becomes quite natural for me to keep it on since it feels like we're just chatting instead of being 6,000 miles away :(

ew. I didn't even know there was a newer version that what we have. I don't like the sound of that though! I like to know what he's seeing so I can present myself in the best way possible. :)

Hehe, that's my problem as well--I can't tell if my camera is even in the right direction unless he tells me otherwise :P It just doesn't run very well, IMHO compared to the version I had before, but who knows, I might just have a bad connection, or something :( But I don't really see the point of upgrading it, all I can find that's new with it is you can get some new color themes for your windows >.<

I STILL dislike the new MSN.  Ian says my voice sounds like a robot most of the time....or that I'm talking into a tin can...lol.

Anywho, hope you ladies are having a good weekend thus far (it's early still, I know).

Gotta go wash the hair dye out here, then get together an outfit for my hen night tonight.  Woot!  Bring on the drinks!

Have a good one, ladies!

So you are feeling better, Patty? That's great! Have fun on the hen night! If you can, post some pics somewhere (fb?) :) I can't believe it's only 9 days till your wedding!!!

How are the rest of you doing? I've been battling a severe sinus infection. I seriously thought my head might just explode the past couple of days. Hopefully the fact that I feel even the tiniest bit better today is a good sign. I have so much to do this weekend.  Definitely sick of being sick.

Anyone have any exciting plans? Ok.. back to my kleenex and ER from Thursday night! :)

Basically, yeah. It's prolly what makes it lag for me, but my older version is messed up, so at least this one *works*. Oh, and the icon windows are on the left side of the chat box instead of the right, neato :P

I get that a lot too when I talk to Steve, or it'll lag and then the audio will catch up all at once and it garbles what he said, so I have to have him repeat it :(

But, I did get my little window to work, where it shows your camera and what your contact can see. My drivers weren't updated on my webcam, so I did that and now it's sorted, but it took a while to figure out what the problem was  :-\\\\

And I hope everyone feels better soon, my allergies are playing up a bit but nothing horrible yet :)

Hello ladies,

I've once again slipped into lurking mode due to school.  It's just gotten so busy, and it looks like it will be this way until it's over (I move out in 46 days...but who's counting  ;) )

Last night a friend of mine (we went to high school together and she goes to school on the other side of DC) and myself spend the day together. She ended up taking me to a reunion party for a spring break trip she took to Northern Ireland.  Apparently she spent most of the trip saying "my friend Brittany says this place is good to eat at", so they were wanting to meet me.

Little did I know alcohol would be involved.  I don't drink in America. Ever. And I rarely have much at all when I'm Ireland.  And last night I may have lost count.  And woke up this morning with the most horrible upset stomach of my LIFE!  So bad.  So currently I'm sitting in the dark eating crisps and drinking coke HOPING this goes away...
I still don't understand the lure of booze... haha

Speaking of booze,Patty, how was your Hen Night? Did you have loads of fun?

Becca, 11 weeks is TOTALLY doable!  As hard as it is, usually as soon as I get home from spending a while with my boyfriend I just totally throw myself into my work and try not to think about the time. Oddly enough, last time he visited I was kind of dreading it because I just had so much going on with school, and that wait seemed to pass the quickest! haha

How's everyone else doing these days?

Everyone needs to let their hair down now and again Brittany!... sadly that does often involve feeling like crap the next day.  Tell me - do crisps and coke help?  Is it 46 days until the end of the Semester?
