Steve and his work mates (including his boss) made an inaugural seasonal visit to the Christkindlmarkt yesterday (first day it's open this year!) for 'lunch' (lasting 2-3 hours)...whereupon spicy sausage and much beer was consumed (in Steve's case, some kind of bottled dark wheat beer which he really liked & he usually doesn't like wheat beer).  He claims he went back to work for a short period afterwards, and oh...'erm...maybe typed an email or something, but I'm not so sure...  :P

Second Friday in a row where they've had that type of 'lunch' and DH has come home p*ssed.  I think it's getting to be tradition!  :D

Anyway, he said the sausage and the beer were good, and there were Germans running some of the stalls.

I made a brief inaugural visit last Friday - don't go near the chocolate marshmallow stall  - sheer unadulterated temptation. Only another 44 varieties to sample before Christmas!

OMG!  We had a browse through the market last night & I'm probably going back today (it was really really crowded last night!).  I had one of the chocolate marshmallows, but I think that the crepe stand or the doughnuts are more my thing.  Steve had a chocolate banana crepe - so good!  And those doughnuts look AMAZING!  I might get one today.  :-[

But HME!  Alarm!  We tried going to the Vic for our tea (as the market was absolutely jam-packed) & the Vic wasn't serving food last night.   ???  You and I were just there last week at the same time having tea?!!!  I must call in and find out what the deal is.  :-\\\\

swelch2, was wondering if you might want to put something about the German Christmas Market meet-up on the Meeting & Events thread as well?  I know it's the book club (but without a book for Dec - lol!) but maybe some other folks might want to turn out for a non-book get-together.  I don't know?  Just a thought.  :)

haha you had me scratching my head for a bit :)

I am going to put a reminder up next week (a new thread I think) so no one forgets!   ::)

And please DO stop talking about all the yummy food!!!  You just keep making me hungry :P
