I am munching through the batch I made last night.  I am told they are 'nicely stodgy' and apparantly that is a good thing!

I used a recipe I picked up from Watrose yesterday.

I have used both Delia's recipes to great success.  Today I am manking the link I just posted above.   Except I realized I did not have mixed peel at this house and I have just chucked in some lemon and orange zest and golden raisins.  I like Britwife's idea of cranberries too.

Oh and I think I might just go get some marzipan and make Simnel cake too! This is one I use:

We are a nation that has a government -- not the other way around. And this makes us special among the nations of the earth. Our government has no power except that granted to it by the people. It is time to check and reverse the growth of government, which shows signs of having grown beyond the consent of the governed.

We made two batches from a recipe in our breadmaker book with good results.  Here's blasphemous suggestion though - don't butter them!

;D cut them in half, spread with strawberry or the jam of your choice, and cover with custard and cook! MMMmmmmmm we had that after Easter dinner, thanks to Jamie Oliver.

It can be, but with a two year old anything to help save time is a good thing.  There is a lot of be said about beating the crap out of a lump of dough though!

I usually don't use the bread maker to bake things in.  It's an over glorified kneader/riser for me.
