Easter / Passover plans?
« on: April 08, 2009, 02:30:42 PM »
So, what is everyone doing?

We are going to set up sort of a treasure hunt for my stepson, with chocolate, small toys, etc., cook a big roast chicken dinner, and go to the park. At some point over the bank holiday weekend, we plan to take him to the aquarium to see the sharks and seals.

What about you?

Nothing too much.  DH is working until 3 and then will just have dinner once he gets home.  We went today and got some little toys and books for the kids' Easter baskets, and I'm going to spend tonight looking for Easter-themed art project ideas to do with DD on Sunday while DH is at work.  This is the first Easter we aren't away to the in-laws, so we're kind of winging it!

Pretty up in the air at this moment.
Your plans sound good, I love holidays with children :) Enjoy x

Saturday is my son's birthday so we are making that the bigger event. We're having a combination birthday party for him/welcome to the USA party for DH. I might incorporate an Easter egg hunt into the party, though. As for Easter itself, we're just having a nice meal (leg of lamb, asparagus, scalloped potatoes, salad, rolls, and some sort of pud).
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

Nothing special - going to the in-laws for a big dinner, but it's may into a whole-day event.

My stepson's 3rd birthday is the 17th, but that's his mother's weekend, so we are having his party the weekend after. Convenient, since all his gifts from my mom haven't arrived yet!  :)

We are having roast chicken, mash, green bean casserole, and other veg, and I think I might make some sort of crumble for pudding.

DS has to work so I thought that would be an excuse to ignore the whole thing.  But DH is thinking of coming for the weekend!  That means planning meals, shopping, etc. etc.  :P  Difficult anyway as he has to avoid a lot of foods (tomatoes, potatoes, chocolate, certain fruits, etc.)

Easter egg hunt for the boys (could be indoors if it isnt dry) then a typical ham and scalloped potato dinner and watching the SKELLIG as a family unit in the evening..

This is me too. It's my first Easter/Springtime back in the UK in twenty years, and I bought myself easter eggs of my favorite UK chocolate, so I'm going to have those, put my feet up, watch some TV, maybe go for a walk if it isn't bad weather. I just want to enjoy the peace and quiet.

Is this on a regular channel of some sort? I've seen the adverts, but assumed it was on Sky movies or something so I didn't really pay attention.  :P

oh, if we're talking about TV, I know DH will be watching the Red Dwarf special, we'll both be watching Doctor Who, and the Skellig thing looks interesting as well!

Yep, DH is super chuffed about the Red Dwarf special, so I assume we will be watching that. Are there any new Wallace and Gromits for Easter? I haven't heard.

Don't know about Wallace and Gromit (love them by the way) but I do plan to watch the ABBA  "day" on Sunday. Various ABBA related shows for several hours; I don't know why but nostalgia makes me like those cheesy old ABBA songs now the way I never did when they were in the charts at the time. (And not even "Mamma Mia" movie related!)
