One of the issues here will be that names have different perceptions in the UK and the US. For example, Kevin is seen as possibly a little chavvy in the UK, or at least a geek name (and not in a good way, like naming your children after characters in Doctor Who!).
Vicky
Aaaah, I see. I think of Kevin like a regular boy's name, like in the
Wonder Years. And I've actually never known anyone named Kevin (well, until I met DH's best friend named Kevin) so it doesn't remind me of anyone. DH wanted to name a girl Dakota and I told him it sounded like a stripper name... which really confused him. But yeah, there are different conotations on different continents. I do actually like the name Dakota, but yeah, it does still sound like a "stage name," IMO.
I used to see this guy called Lucas one summer who was soooooo fine! Now I can't ever think of that name without seeing him in my mind.
And that's a good thing.

I used to work with a hot bartender named Luke. MMMMM-HMMMM!!!!

But I've just always like that name for some reason.
I also like the name Hayden. But maybe not so much now because of Hayden Christensen, who truly is a crap actor.
