[split]STAR TREK (Contains Spoilers)
« on: May 07, 2009, 06:09:10 PM »
I saw Star Trek today.  It's a good popcorn movie, with a lot of little things for people who are familiar with the characters and the history of the show, but not so much that you'd be lost if you've never seen any of the movies or the TV show.

We're going to see this tomorrow night!  I SO cannot wait!  I've been a Trekkie since I was 11!

I know. I just have a mental block about Star Trek. I really liked the one Star Trek movie about whales, was it 4?

I can't wait for Star Trek.  We saw Wolverine last night.  Not too bad, but Gambit was always one of my favorites.

Just got back from seeing Star Trek, and if you're a Lost fan, you'll find it very familiar feeling.  Also, if you've seen Lord of the Rings and Star Wars there are some oblique references.   There's of course a lot of Star Wars pop culture-type references (like red shirts) which, if you are aware of them, make the movie that much funnier.

That's right... the movie was frickin' hilarious.

Anyway, the actual storyline was convoluted and flimsy as all get out, but the characters' stories are well done.  Kinda like Lost, actually.

We saw Star Trek last night.

A little too cheesy for me, but I can always watch Sylar..

We're seeing it tonight! I can't wait.
And if you threw a party
Invited everyone you knew
You would see the biggest gift would be from me
And the card attached would say
"Thank you for being a friend!"

Star Trek.  I saw this at a charity fund raiser and it's breathtaking.  Beyond that, the only thing I can add is about Uhura.  She is *ridiculously* beautiful.  Seductive, minxy, and in a Star Fleet uniform that doesn't even make a pretense about being anything else.

I saw Star Trek today too.  LOVED it.  I thought that the cast all did a good job of making their characters recognisable without just mimicking the original actors.  Liked the alternate universe thing too, very clever trick.  My only criticism is the Spock/Uhura romance, I don't find that plausible in the slightest.

Saw this today, and loved it too! Bones was a little over the top, methinks, but otherwise great. Biggest surprise was Kirk - I totally thought he was gonna be a disappointment and he was great! And can I get Zachary Quinto delivered to my house, please?
