Why do people prefer solids to roll-ons?

I prefer solids mainly cause I don't like the feel of the clammy wetness of the roll on but that's just me!!  ;)  :)

I have never found a roll on smell that I like.  I'm not sure why the roll on's smell different to me than the stick, but I way prefer the solid smell.
And I don't like that wet feeling under my arms, rather would just smear it on and its already dry.
I've never gotten food on my underpants!

We stocked up on Ibuprofen (2 500ct), Lawry's Garlic Salt (3 Large Canisters), and I bought 2 double packs of Secret Platinum. My mom always takes us on a Costco Run right before we leave the US, this time she tried to by the muchkin a rocking horse & us an extra bag so we could take it home along with the Radio Flyer Tricycle she bought. I convinced her not to get the horse and just hang onto the Trike until we move next year.

Silly me I gave up my Costco Membership (I was on my Uncles Business Account for $5 a year!) just before I moved to the UK in 2007.  :-\\\\

Are you near Nottingham? There's a sweet shop in the Victoria Centre with quite a few American products, eg A&W, Grape Jelly, etc.
Doug

Ahhh Doug, you have made me smile. I am moving to Notts in a couple of weeks and am happy to know that I can go look for an American fix if I need one. :)

Maybe I can make chex mix with different cereals????
The idea of trying to get used to roll-on deodorants makes me shudder....but I'm sure I'll get over it in time. :)

I'm not sure about corn or wheat types, but I've been able to get cereal that's basically identical to Wheat Chex at the Scottish Co-op stores.  I think they're called Shreddies?  There's a name brand, as well as a store brand.  They'd probably work just fine.

The ranch here is Johnny's (from Tacoma WA but very good!) and you can get seasoning salt (I think Lawrys!) Also-non-alcoholic (American) egg-nog can be found at both Tesco & ASDA, but Tesco is about half price! I also have found Kraft Mac & Cheese (I have young kids) & Kool-Aid (pre-mixed fruit punch, but YAY!) in both ASDA & Tesco world food isles lol. Cant say enuf about Cyber-Candy (Birmingham!) They have ALL the sweets you could want! House of Fraser (Birmingham Bull-Ring) has Toll House I think! Good luck!!!!!!!!!

Shreddies are available across the UK and, looking at the Wiki pages for both Shreddies and Chex, it seems they are both made by the same company (Shreddies: made by General Mills and Post Cereals, Chex: made by General Mills). There's even a link to Chex at the bottom of the Shreddies page and a link to Shreddies at the bottom of the Chex page :P.

FYI, it's so so easy to just stick a few packets of ranch dressing mix in your suitcase when you visit - so much easier than grappling with bottles or trying to find another brand that may not suit. I don't make it much, but when i want it, I want it - I find a box of mix packets lasts me pretty much all year. I also like the option of making it with skim milk and low fat mayo....

Also, if you can get a trade membership (a friend of mine used to give us one on his as he had his own business) you can buy multi packs of pain relievers. I still prefer Excedrin so I import the giant bottles, but if I still had a Costco trade membership I'd learn to live with Anadin Extra.

I found it in the world/ethnic food section (still not used to that!) in little yellow cartons like a juice box! I have heard mixed reviews, but my daughter is happy with it & it seems ok to me! FYI Tesco is about half the price of ASDA, but since its under £1 anyway & we do most of our shopping at ASDA, that is where we buy it! Merry Christmas! Quick question-is "mulled apple juice" like American apple cider? Would love to have some of that if I knew how to make it!

M&S is selling a special holiday apple juice with vanilla, cinnamon and cloves and it is very nice if you heat it up and they have it in the 3 for 2 offer.
