Worst Movie Ever
« on: December 27, 2009, 11:51:32 PM »
Seen posts about most saddest films and recommendations films on here, but havent seen one about crappy movies.

My partner and I seen the Halloween 2 remake by Rob Zombie. Now being HUGE horror fans and bigger Rob Zombie fans, we thought it would be great.
We were SOOO disappointed!!! First of all, "Michael Myers" only wore his mask for like 5 minutes in the entire movie, The rest of the time, he was walking around with long hair and a long beard, looking like a homeless bum. They made Dr.Loomis into a money grubbing person who sold out. And they killed Laurie at the end of it! It has to be the worst remake of a movie ever

I think Secondhand Lions was one of the worst movies I've ever seen. A few others, like Anaconda, were so terrible it was laughable, but Secondhand Lions just sucked in a completely humourless sort of way.  ::)

My list of bad movies is probably longer than my list of good ones.  :-\\\\

Two very near the top of the list would be Ghost and Titanic. Utter rubbish in every way imagineable - acting, writing, dialogue, everything.

There is only one film that I have ever gotten up and walked out of the cinema during... Ray.

Funny, I liked Ghost and Ray.  So did the Academy, but ya know. Whatevs.  I suffered my first movie disappointment as a preteen with the movie "North" starring Elijah Wood.  I had looked forward to it so much, and I remember my mom being so proud afterward that I realized how much it sucked.  I also was so sad about Cider House Rules, not because the film was bad- it really wasn't, but because the book was so lovely and they failed to capture it fully.

Heist.  Everyone spoke as though they'd read a book called "How To Talk Like A Movie Criminal."

The Negotiator.  The first time they cut power to the building, they used a big on/off switch.  The second time they cut power to the building, they cut the power cables with a great big power saw.  Why the difference?  No reason I could see except that if they'd done it with the saw the first time they wouldn't have been able to turn it on and then off again later in the film.  That was one of many things that I found ridiculous about the film.

National Treasure, the remake of The Wicker Man, and about half of all films that star Nick Cage (the other half tend to be on the brilliant side).

Armageddon.  Can't stand it.  Though the worst movie I ever watched all the way through was a low-budget thing about a giant killer shark.  Megalotron?  Mega-something.

Probably loads that I've never watched.

But the worst I've seen

The Matrix, saw first on video and hated it, was forced into taking my them GF to the 2nd and fortunately she thought that was bad so never had to see the 3rd!

The English Patient - only film I've falled asleep in the cinema.

Moulin Rouge - just awful! modern songs but it's set in the 1800's! What the heck!

Blair Witch Project - I've watched 3 hour long movies that have flown by, this was only 80 mins long and I couldn't wait for it to end.

A very dear, stalwart Scottish friend told me that the only film he ever cried at was Armageddon...I really struggled not to cringe..

Anything with J-Lo or Ben Affleck.

And I agree:  Titanic, Ghost and Blair Witch Project (which I didn't actually see all of, as I had to go out and upchuck a pack of Rolo's I'd eaten because that damn camera bouncing around made me sick).

The Count of Monte Cristo with Jim Caviezel and Guy Pearce.  The book is 1200 pages long, so I totally understand the fact that it can't possibly be entirely faithful.  However, the butchery that is that movie is just horrendous.

Also, The Stupids.  I remember being in the theatre at 11 years old and asking my mom if we could leave.
