The above link is to a piece by (attributed to) Turlough O'Carolan called Captain O'Kane.

I've one more link to a faster one, a dance tune.  Will put up as soon as hubby finishes doing what he's doing with it.

Bravo!! Nice setting too.
I just hope that more people will ignore the fatalism of the argument that we are beyond repair. We are not beyond repair. We are never beyond repair. - AOC

Oh, very very nice.  :)   ;D

I guess I should pipe up as another musician since I'm here...

I play fiddle.  A friend of mine introduced me to Scottish fiddling a few years ago but I think I'm a bit Cape Breton influenced.  Definitely started with Irish trad.   :D

Thanks guys!  :)

Aquila, I play fiddle, too (Irish trad), but need to get my fiddling back up to par as I've been lazy about it lately.  :-\\\\

sonofasailor, really enjoyed hearing yours, too. I'm always impressed with picking styles (I'm not as coordinated!).  Also noticed your Colt45 beer cans graphic... haha... I used to drink the tall cans of that in my younger days  ;)

Haha, tell me about it.  :(

I used to play all the time back in the US.  I played with the uni Celtic music group once a week, went to a local session once a week AND practiced for fun in my spare time.

Unfortunately, I've just not had the time now, and really wish I could do something about it.  :(  Weekdays are generally out because I'm so knackered from my commute.  When I get home, all I want to do is eat and go to bed.  I could probably play on the weekends, but there's so many house chores to do.  And the walls in my flat are so thin, I am pretty darn sure the neighbors could hear me, even with my electric fiddle on headphones.

I really would like to find a session, but I don't know any, and on top of that, I'm not sure which ones are good and/or welcoming to newcomers, especially rusty ones.  ;)

Aww, we're in the same boat!  I'm in Leeds, where are you?  I'd totally get together and play with you if you weren't too far away!

Aww, I'm in London, so a bit far away!  :(

Thanks for the offer though; I totally would have been up for a jam if I were closer!

Just a snippet of the reel 'The Gravel Walks' with hubby doing backup on guitar.  It's not perfect!  (Can you spot the mistake? Hee hee!  :D )
