I don't know if I count.  I'm terrible at all those 360 and playstation games (I like watching them be played though!) but I can beat anyone at Mario Kart and I love anything that's a simulation or puzzle type game.  I grew up playing SimTower and SimCity, and I am of course subsequently obsessed with The Sims (1, 2, and 3).  Also loved Roller Coaster Tycoon and Age of Empires when they first came out, and cried when Myst didn't work on our first computer. :)  I want a DS solely for Professor Leyton, and I love those Big Fish hidden object games when I'm procrastinating!

I think I'd like to get involved in the Final Fantasty games but it seems to linear for me. I prefer sandbox games because I feel I have more control. The ones that I played the most are Fable II, Fallout 3, Oblivion and now DA Origins.

I tried Drakes Uncharted but got bored really quickly. Jon plays it loads. I have a friend who is a Halo freak but it's too shoot 'em up for me. Jon plays what I consider more hardcore, Mass Effect, Left 4 Dead, etc etc.

I do play Rachet & Clank or Little Big Planet when I want something different, though. I was a massive Sims fan and still keep an eye on whats new but I don't play it nearly as much as I used to.

I'm so jealous that so many of you are or have partners in the industry. I bet you get loads of sneak previews and goodies.

Or are in the industry ourselves ;)

Final Fantasy is an interesting one, yes it has a story which is often linear, but inbetween story sections you're free to do what you want, there's loads of content there, so like I sunk about 30 hours into breeding chocobos in FFVII and playing games in the casino. I'm replaying it again at the moment but I haven't gotten to all of that yet, also in VII after you've completed the game the whole world opens up as a sandbox and you can go back and do side quests and stuff you've missed.

You can get FFVII for about a tenner on PSN, might be worth trying if you don't mind how old-school it looks (Ps2 game, I think it still looks ace!)

Heh, We all should trade PSN or XBOX Live names. I don't have any friends on PSN other then my husband. It would be nice to have someone to play LBP with some times. My husband hates it.

I got a bit into an RPG game called Vampires when I was in college, and I thought it was brilliant, but, then the group of friends I'd played with all went our seperate ways. All I'd really done was created my character, but, I loved using my imagination to create the character that I had made. I had to give up all the books that I'd bought for it, though, because I'd moved from my dad's house in San Diego to my aunts' in Chicago.

I will admit to being slightly techo-illiterate, though-what's a PSN? And LPB?

DH played Oblivion over one Christmas period as a goodie, and he wants to play it thru again as a baddie. He's doing Fallout as a goodie right now, and then will go back as a baddie. He got Mirror's Edge for like, £6.89 or something fantastic a couple of weeks ago, and grabbed. it. Actually, he's got a full store of games for himself and won't have to get any more until probably the spring or fall or something.

Yup! Vampire Masquerade, that's the one! Ah, Little Big Planet. The one with the sock boy on the front cover, right? :) Yeah, DH is constantly on XBL, which I'm guessing is much like the PSN. :D

Another gaming household here too :)  We're mostly MMO gamers (Eve Online, Aion, EQII).  I miss tabletop gaming.  I still have a bag of dice I haven't used since college.

Edit to add that Vampire the Masquerade is coming to an MMO near you!  They guys that did EVE Online are teaming up with White Wolf.  Naturally they're being super secretive about it, but I can see the potential.

*sob* The red ring of death has hit our home today. Thankfully the warranty is good until September.

Not the red ring of death!  :\\\'( As much as I love xbox, those things can be so fragile. My friends have seen the ring on theirs at least five or so times.  ::)

I honestly had no idea how many people actually gamed on this forum, glad to know I'm in good company ;D If I had the hardware and the money to buy consoles, I would play with all of you  :D

Btw, did anyone else play any katamari damacy?

I'm a gamer as well. :) Mostly computer (I prefer using mouse/keyboard to controller), but before I moved I had an xbox 360 and a PS2. I've been contemplating a wii for a while, so perhaps I'll get one once I have a job.

This will be awesome--I love V:tM on paper, and I love WoW, so some combination of the two would be quite interesting. I don't think I can afford the fee/time of running two MMORPGS, but if they offered a free month like they do WoW when you sign up I would definitely give it a whirl :)

I'm also hoping to get FF XIII this year--I don't have it on preorder, but my husband knows I really like it, so it might be a good birthday or Christmas present for me.
