iPhone saved my sanity
« on: February 17, 2010, 01:58:46 PM »
Ok I admit I am one of those cool kids now and iPhone has savedmy sanity and link to the world and by world I mean the web and my friends/family in the US.

App's? What ones do you LOVE and can't live without?

Mine:
ebuddy
Yelp
Skype
Facebook
Shazam
mConvert
Iheartradio (when it works)
Allrecipes UK
Wells Fargo (bank in the US)

I don't know how I lived without mine. What did I do? I can't remember but I'm sure I just floundered through life before.

The apps I love are:

Facebook
Bejeweled
FingerPiano
Solitaire
I Can Haz Cheezburger
My O2
& IPregnancy

I have 7 pages of apps, though. I'm a bit of an app hoarder.

I just got my iPhone a couple of weeks ago.  I am starting to wade through all the apps possibilities, but I love the Facebook app and some of the transportation and train time table apps.

But I really love the fact that I can download movies and TV shows.  I had a long bus ride last week...stuck in traffic and I didn't mind at all, because I was watching Pride and Prejudice (BBC).

I want an I-phone, but I'm such a Luddite - I'm afraid I'd be scared & overwhelmed and not end up using it so much...or I'd need lessons.  :-[

I was a snob before and said there was no reason to EVER need one...then you get one and dont know how you lived without one!

No lessons needed...My 12 year old brother has one <nodnod> you can do it or I will make you a video

Oh I'm not thinking like snob about it...it's just that I have an Ipod that I can't remember the last time I used it, because I had problems every time I tried to put my own playlist (instead of DH's) on it.  I just don't want it to be another thing 'I want' & then not end up using it really.  Hmmm.  :P

I found it really easy to use. It's pretty intuitive, I thought. But you will use it. Even if you don't use every app you get, you'll still use it as a phone with calls and texting.

No I didn't think that you meant that.  Well it's good to know that I would probably use it - I have been putting it off & just thinking about it.  But now Orange has the I-Phone too...well I have been tempted.  I had to wait until Orange had it, because that's just how we roll at our house.  ;) :)

Somebody was telling me they didn't really like touch screen phones, but I think one of those phones with the little teensy tiny QWERTY keyboard would drive me insane - so I'm thinking I would like the touch screen.

I hate everone who has one because I don't. :P  ;)

And Mrs R, I'll take your iPod, too, as my DH took mine.  :\\\'(
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

I've got an iPod mini and don't use it.  I still prefer my CDs (hey, at least we're not talking cassettes here!).  I didn't get my first cell phone til autumn 2006 and didn't get a computer til 2002, so I'm sure I'll do just fine without an iPhone for a while.  Not being a snob, just that I waste enough time on my laptop--which I got about 3 years ago--it's still hangin' in there, thank goodness.
