Robbed
« on: June 09, 2010, 04:20:08 PM »
I took the girls into town yesterday to meet up with some work friends. I was gone no more than 4 hours and when I came back it was to find that some bastard had broken into our house and ransacked the place.

They've taken some electricals, all my jewelry and some cash. The thing that hurts the most is that they've taken our video camera and digital camera. We've lost all our video of the girls and some photos. Gutting.

My inlaws came up today to help me clean the house up. They really did a number on us. They took everything out of our closets and wardrobes, all our cabinets and shelves. The place looks good now but it's taken 3 of us all day to clean it up.

Police got a few footprints but they wore gloves, so no fingerprints. I really do hope they find the guys. They are most likely living on our estate. It makes me sick to think I could walk by them when I'm on my way to the shops.
There are two things in life for which we are never truly prepared:  twins.

OH MY GOODNESS!!  I am so sorry to hear about that.  I really do hope that they get caught too.  Most things can be replaced but the photos and the videos...
I am so sorry Ashley. :(

Ashley - I am so sorry but I am GLAD you were not home!
I hope they catch the bastards - scaring a new mom of twins!
You and the family are safe but now put a BIG flashlight by your bed and front door as you can't put a bat that's illegal.

Ashley, I am so very sorry to hear this but thank goodness you and the girls are okay!  Your sense of safety has been shattered by these cretins.

Seriously, it's illegal?  My mind can't comprehend this ---- the laws need to change big time!

Ugh, I'm so sorry.  It's so violating and infuriating.   :-[  We were robbed back in the US and it certainly makes you feel a bit different about your neighborhood.

My friend is a cop and its considered premeditated which is crap - its protection BUT its the law.

You can have a large torch/flashlight by the door which usually the electric box is there so makes sense and also in your room in case you lose power.

How about 2 bats one for you and one to put in the robbers hands when the police come.
Also, very sorry to hear about your losses.

Oh Ashley I'm so sorry about that.  I know losing those pictures and video has to be devistating.   :(   Since it was the middle of the day, maybe someone saw something and can help the police out...I hope they get what's coming to them!
