Found "The Dress"? Share your pictures!
« on: July 07, 2010, 03:54:12 PM »
So I found my perfect wedding dress three days ago, and had the sales lady take preliminary pictures of it. I figured I'd start a thread where all us girls can share pictures of our perfect dresses! I found mine at David's Bridal here in the US, and I just LOVE IT! The sash is going to be this light purple color they've dubbed "Wisteria". :D

I really like the sash and the detail- very elegant!

I already got married, but I am making a wedding book for my anniversary and I thought I would share the dress:

and with the shoes:

I bought that dress years ago at a vintage shop in South Street in Philly, never worn it. I must have known subconsciously that I would be marrying in Vegas one day. It is identical to one of Ann Margret's in Viva Las Vegas, which is the name of the chapel we got married.
I am still super in love with the shoes (my husband too)!

Cute! I like the gold detail around the waist of your dress! I decided my shoes are gonna be these cute flats that have purple on them that I found at Payless. I'll get to get them tomorrow, I'm so excited!

And as a note to all, share your dress whether you're married or not! I know I love seeing pictures of wedding dresses!

Danielle I love your Vegas photos!!

Just curious - which chapel did you get married at in Vegas? My boyfriend and I are planning a Vegas wedding, as that's where I lived for several years before moving to London (this is only if we have to get married - as we're not really the wedding/marrying type, but would do it so we could stay together).

I also worked as a Las Vegas wedding photographer for a couple years - I've seen some crazy weddings :)

Ah, just noticed you got married at "Viva Las Vegas" - I missed that! How was it?

I always liked "Little Chapel of the West", which is actually the one that they got married in in "Viva Las Vegas"...

I love your dress, Danielle! But then I'm a total sucker for a little Elvis/Ann.  ;D

My dress was a Stephanie Allin.

I had Stephanie make some slight modifications to the design to suit me more - she added lace cap sleeves and altered the cut of the neckline a bit:

I especially loved the back of the dress:

Kelly- Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel www.vivalasvegasweddings.com
They were amazing! They work with a lot of Brit couples (sometimes they offer discounts to UKCs) and they have a live internet feed, so all our friends & family could watch. We got married in august with the 'Hound Dog' package, which included Elvis singing one song. We also got a DVD and all together spent around $320. It wasn't the fanciest Vegas wedding, but I love cheesy stuff and Elvis. The staff we're super helpful and even calmed me down a bit before the ceremony. The only problem was the photos were overpriced. I wish I hired a photographer to follow us around that day.
Also we got our name up on the Vegas strip:

Chary- I love the buttons up the back of your dress, so pretty & romantic!

Danielle, your wedding looks so fun!  :)

I actually found my dress on Craigs List. I looked at all the shops around Dallas, but couldn't find anything that was very different or what I wanted. So, I found this dress online, it was handmade in India. It fit me really well when I first tried it on, so I only needed a few alterations. I don't have a pic just now, but will try to remember to upload one when I get home tonight.

Oh... I love the lace on your dress chary. So elegant. I had a look at the designer's website, and found myself wishing I could get married again just to wear one of her dresses!

I was married ages ago, but my favorite part was the dress shopping. I still love looking at brides in their dresses!

My dress was by Pronovias

across, I'm the same way! I'm not married yet, but in the process of planning for it. I still love seeing all the dresses and how gorgeous the ladies look in them! I hope more people post pictures, as all of these dresses are ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! :)

Also, if you posted a picture here, go check out my other thread "What is/was the most unique thing you planned into your wedding?" http://talk.uk-yankee.com/index.php?topic=63631.0;topicseen  And post there too! :)

I love wedding dresses! Mine was an accident that I found in a dress shop in a mall for $300 bucks I think or something close to it.
I loved it and it worked perfectly.

I love all the dresses above - ya know Lady Luck I tried your dress on and it was so flattering!

Yes, she's my favourite wedding dress designer! I adore her stuff. Plus, she's Welsh and I had my heart set on keeping everything to do with the wedding as local as possible. It didn't hurt that she's so fabulous, though!

And I've already got a thread for my work-in-progress dress, but I'm sewing my gown using my Granny's gown from 1949.

It really is! Especially since I'm so conscious of my tummy. I wanted a dress that would make me look gorgeous and hide my tummy. I'm hoping to try to lose some weight around my middle before my wedding, but we'll see what happens!
