I didn't pay priority. But from the majority of the experiences I've read about, often people don't pay the priority fee and still get it fairly quickly. My main concern is that I just have yet to receive an email.

Sometimes you dont. I got a second email and then the very next day a third which said my visa had been issued .
The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

May you find hope in the darkest hours and focus on the brightest days free from bitterness that grows you may not judge the universe.

I received this e-mail today and just want to know if I should be worried about approval?
Please submit criminal court documents

Issue Worthless Check. This is not a criminal offense and results only in a money penalty for this offense.  This is my offense.  Just want to know if this is a deal breaker?

Sarah, I suggest that you post this question in a new thread so some of the more experienced people in here may notice it more easily and can review your situation. My thoughts would be that if you are honest about what happened and repentant, it being a civil offense, you should be fine. However, as I have witnessed in recent months, its not what you think is reasonable that counts ha ha. Anyway its a good thing you are being smart and not trying to hide the offense. That would definitely be a deal breaker!

So, you wrote a bad check? Could be considered an act of fraud. Even if you were just issued with a fine, it technically is a conviction and would need to be looked at if you were convicted in the UK of the same offense. Which is why they're asking for the court information.

You would have been best prepared had you consulted a UK immigration solicitor so you could have prepared the documentation ahead of time and submitted it with your application. Nothing you can do now but provide what you've been asked for and hope for the best. As we are not Immigration Solicitors familiar with US & UK criminal law, you're guess as to what the response might be is as good as ours.

Only a UK legal professional can give you the proper answer to your question.

Best of luck to you.

Yikes! Well, good luck to you. I think in the UK they take that pretty seriously. Problem is every now and then a bad check does happen on accident(due to carelessness usually). I hope this doesn't come back to bite you.

Did you pay for priority processing ($300) when you mailed in the application?

If so, the processing timeframe is within 15 working days, so there's nothing to be worried about just yet... you're not even halfway through that processing time yet. Every case is different, so you can't base your application processing time on what other people have experienced - some applications are processed in a day or two and others may take a couple of weeks, even if all the applications are simple and straightforward.

If you didn't pay for the priority processing, then your application may well take longer to be processed (generally up to 30 working days, although it seems as though non-priority processing times have been shorter than this recently)... because the priority applications are put to the front of the line and it may be that your application is still sitting in a pile, waiting for someone to get to it.

I don't really know much about the UK law... But I really don't see how they would know unless you wrote a bad check and someone filed against you and won...Then showing up on a background check as being convicted. If you didn't submit something that was considered as not being "spent" I can see why they would want details...

MY VISA WAS ISSUED! So excited Im going home to be with my wife!
My package was received September 30th. I then received an emil letting me know, and they also stated I would get two more follow up emails. (One stating that it went to an officer and one letting me know if it was approved or not.) We worried a lot that we didnt get a second email, until yesterday when got the one telling me it was issued. We didnt pay prority, and it only took EIGHT business days!
Thanks to everyone for all the help and support the past couple weeks! Im moving to England!

Does anyone know anything about priority and spouse visas for some one that has been removed?

I'm probably going to work with Myra from Allstarpassports in L.A.  She says that we should pay the priority fee and that it can still take two to three weeks.

I read somewhere here that someone quoted a page that said "The UK Border Agency strongly recommends that applicants with any form of adverse immigration history do not use this service. "

Is it just because its not going to get finished in the 15 days because it needs to be reffered back to the UKBA? I'm ok with it taking a bit longer than that but I'm thinking paying the priority is still going to make it go faster. Any thoughts?

You dont need to work with a passport agency.  File the paperwork/application online and then go to the World bridge site to purchase the priority service (if you want it).
If you have all your paperwork ( I dont know what adverse history you have) but it can't hurt.  We have seen people use it and it may still be quicker then applying regularly.

PS: I would start a new thread since this is about how long it took ;-)

Good luck!

Hi this is my first time posting on here though I have been reading the site for a good while and I can't say enough what a great help it's been to my wife and I.
We met in Mexico on vacation last year and instantly clicked. We stayed in touch every day after coming home and have visited back and forth as much as work will allow, she is a US citizen and I am a UL citizen. Anyway I just wanted to thank all the people who post such great helpful info on here.
Anyway our time line as this what the topic is for:

Met December 2011 Mexico
Married September 12 2012
Online Application 4th October
Priority purchased 4th October
Biometrics 7th October
Fedex package 12th October
Package received 15th October on a Friday
Visa issued Monday 17th 09:49.

I know we paid priority but we never expected it that quick! (to be honest I had over analysed! The danger of reading too many posts and was convinced we would be declined) If anyone wants any details or has any queries re our application I am more tha willing to give any help possible.
My wife is coming home to live with me!!! No more airport Goodbye misery thank you god!!
