Ugh... I'm in the waiting boat with all of you.  Trouble is, we already have tickets for September 1st.  Yuck.  This is my second spousal visa, I applied for one back in early 2007, which was completed and back to me in ONE WEEK!  No priority processing...

I came back to the US befire my original visa expired and then my husband followed me over here when he got his green card.  Now, we've decided to go back and be with his daughters.  So, silly me thought it wouldn't take that long again and we bought our tickets and everything.  Now I'm freaking out.   :-\\\\

Application was sent to NY on 8/2 via priority mail.
Email confirmation received 8/9.

Today is 8th business day......

It seems like they go out either mid-day (I got mine around 1PM Eastern) or at the end of the business day.

EmmJayye- I just noticed that you're in NH!  So am I!  Here's to hoping that NY goes easy on the NH girls.   :)

Thanks for the tip, Magik!

Hells_belle: No way!!! Where in NH?? I'm in Concord. How exciting! :) Are you currently waiting on a settlement visa response as well? It's such a nightmare...

Woops - scratch that... I see you're on 8 business days. You may very well get approved before me since you caught that priority processing option - Lucky you!! I noted on my application that I intended to travel on 8/30.. No ticket purchased yet and it's looking like I'm not flying anywhere until September... ugh :(

EmmJayye- I'm in Dover!  Wow, that's too funny!  I am waiting for my settlement visa as well... at least I do have my husband here with me.  We've been married now for almost four years and this is the second time we've gone through this process.  The second time around is way more stressful.   :(

Today is the 14th day for you??  I really, really hope you hear soon!!!!

I'm going to Essex, just outside London.  My husband's parents, brother and daughters live in a town called Wickford.  Where are you going to??   :D

I will be just outside of Newtown, Wales which is about 40 minutes from Shrewsbury, England. I've flown into Heathrow a few times to know that we're a little over 3 hours from London.

It's looking like business day 14 is not so lucky... The clock is ticking and no email. Gutted again. :( Though I did catch up with the USDA federal vet today. Hard to believe my dog's immigration process is actually completed before my own.  ::)

GCJ- Did you really mean June 17th or did you mean July? Either way I really hope you get it soon, just curious cause if it was June, you must be approaching the end of the 50 day target period for processing. I haven't noticed anyone who has had to wait that long and I'm freaking out that mine is gonna take 50 days or more. Good luck and let us know when you get the good news!

EmmJayye- I like your idea on releasing statistics about how the process affects us. I often wonder if the visa people have any idea how miserable their applicant is, when they see how long the husband and wife have been apart.

Sleeping- not much
Eating- next to nothing
Drinking- right now

And congrats to your dog! Let's hope we're not too far behind the canines in this whole thing.

Peggles...this is working day 47 since they received documents  :(

We contacted them but have heard nothing.  We didn't think it would take this long.  We've been married nearly 18 months and had to be apart for nearly 3 months.

As you say it seems excessive and we did make contact this week but nothing...

Oh my goodness!!! This is not good news for us fellow NY applicants...  Today was business day 15 for me. I'm not looking forward to having to go through another weekend. Probably one of the few times in my life where I've wanted the weekends to speed by.

Visa refused today  :(  only took 9 weeks to find out.

Don't know reason yet but upset to say the least.  Let's hope it's a quick appeal.  So cruel to hear that after so long.

Good luck to everyone else - hope you get a better result than us!

GCF,

That's awful news!! Hope the reason that caused the refusal can be corrected. Keep us updated.

Im on day 15 of processing. No news yet... I suppose it will be a couple of more weeks.

GCJ-

That is horrible!!! I am so sorry to hear that!! I know it's none of my business, and if you don't want to share, that's totally understandable.. but do you feel you provided adequate documentation on your circumstances? Do you have any "inkling" as to why they might have come to that decision?

It makes me even more paranoid.. the longer it takes, the more I'm worried it's up for denial :(

I really hope you manage to work it out.. I know how awful it is to be apart from the one you love. Best of luck and keep us posted!!

I'm so sorry to hear that GCJ. I'm also curious to know the reason, if you're willing to share. I thought I had a straightforward enough case, but the fact that it's been seven weeks is really worrying me.

If you want help in your appeal, you should start a new thread about your case. There are a lot of people on here with knowledge and experience that might come in handy.

Good luck. I hope you make it.
