No Wendy's that I know of! It's probably the one thing that will keep my dad from ever visiting - he has a serious frosty addiction and eats at least one a day...  ::)

I've also seen Pizza Hut, Papa John's and Starbucks (of course!)

Other places I can think of in the UK:
- Krispy Kreme (only certain locations across the country at the moment... the first one in Bristol just opened last month with a second one opening in the next 3 weeks)
- Subway (everywhere)
- Domino's Pizza (everywhere)

We used to have Wendy's, I remember one in Leeds, just don't think it took off though.

What's a frosty?

There is another donut place which we saw at Manchester Airport - can't recall the name but DW spotted it when we were picking her daughter up.

A frosty is like a milkshake, available only at Wendy's.
The place you are thinking of at the Manchester Airport is probably Tim Hortons.

What do you think of the flavour of American ff chains here?  I was homesick and my husband treated me to McDonald's.  It did not even come close to tasting the same.  I have promised my oldest son a McDonald's since he was not with us when we got one, but I am going to pass on the hamburger and try the chicken instead.  The hamburger was almost inedible, in my opinion.

I don't think I've ever tried a McDonald's hamburger outside the U.S.   I've usually gone with the chicken sandwiches, and they've been quite good, I thought.  I suppose the fries taste a little bit different, but not enough to be off-putting.

I think the doughnut place at Manchester airport is a Tim Horton's and if so, it's a Canadian doughnut place!  :P

A Frosty is a thick chocolate milkshake you sometimes have to use a spoon to eat its that thick but its only available at Wendy's. I have been seriously craving for a Frosty & a Hostess Apple Pie for ages. ::)  :P  I'm not a baker so I don't think I could make a Hostess Apple Pie from scratch.  ::)  :P  Dh & I did try an make a Frosty a few years back Dh found a copycat recipe but it wasn't the same.   :(  :P

I think the burgers taste a little different myself but I haven't had one in ages I have been having the Chicken Legend or the Chicken Premiere everytime we go McDonald's.

I cant taste a difference in the fries they taste the same to me as they do in the States. when I was younger I worked at McDonald's for over 8 years but at 4 different ones in different States & Cities over the years an the fries are the only thing I never had to doctored up cause I never grew bored of them.

Yes, I think that's it.
As for McDonalds - I find them disgusting wherever!

Wish we had Popeye's Chicken here though

I am clearly living on the wrong side of London! Might have to make a trip to Hammersmith soon for some pretzel goodness.  :D
