My temp is up to 39.2. :( And chatting with my flatmate for 5 minutes (while lying down motionless) left me out of breath.

Also, I really, really hate my flat. I've got a long-sleeve shirt, a sweatshirt, sweatpants, and 2 pairs of socks on, and lying right next to the radiator with a blanket...I was still shivering. (I'd chalk this up to chills except that the flat is cold even when I'm not sick.) Now I'm roasting, but I will chalk that up to the fever (which has gone up 1 degree in the last hour).

On the plus side, my flatmate is awesome. He walked my dog, fed the dog/cat, took my blanket out of the washer to dry, and heated up my heating pad for me. :) Yay for living with nice people.

ETA: Just coughed to the point of vomiting. :( My day just keeps getting better and better.

EN, that's really starting to get really high-
You may want to start checking with NHS Direct (do they still have that in England?) to see if there's anything you can do.  Because that's really not good  :(

My IA is that band practice was rubbish and we're playing a Christmas party tomorrow and we're gonna just be awful.  Oh well.   :-X

I do, yeah.  (which is sort of why I put this in the IA thread), because it's definitely not the worst thing in the world.  It's more just the fact that....you know, I'd planned to be home for christmas, and this wasn't the plan!

On the upside, I'm just going to schedule a little more time home and change my return flight.  So I get to spend a little more time with the fam.

That sounds OK. Hope you have a Merry Christmas  :)

Thanks, PB. I called NHS Direct last night and the woman was very nice, but basically repeated all the stuff I know...it's a flu, there's no cure, it sucks, it'll last up to 10 days. Also, apparently I should go nowhere and see no one (including my GP) in case I might infect them. (Which, y'know, would be fine if my old coworkers had followed the same rule so that I hadn't gotten sick in the first place! Grump.)

Anyway, my temp is back down to 36 (which is normal for me), so fingers crossed it stays there. Still hacking away, of course, but maybe I've turned the corner.

I hope your band performance goes well! I've had many rehearsals that sucked followed by nice performances, so there's hope. :)

Skype is down grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr http://www.readwriteweb.com/archives/skype_is_down_8_million_lost_connection_in_last_ho.php

It's still down  >:( >:( >:(

My IA: I'm so done with being sick! Today was the last day to move out my things and I had been hoping the last few days that my condition would be decent, but I still had to cover my face.

Thankfully I moved the last of everything out, relatively painlessly. Plus my appetite returned so I got my first good meal in since I got sicker.

fricken paypal limited my account for some stupid reason and they are making me jump through hoops to unlimit it. Thing is the card on it is old and has been canceled and my address is the old one. So I can't update and fix my account. I hate paypal.

Weby:  :( :( :( :( I'm really sorry everything is being awful for you.

Jewlz: Is your DSS feeling any better? Was his mum able to get him safely?

EN: People are often contagious for days before they show any symptoms  :-\\\\ I hope you feel better.

Our fridge is borked. The top shelf is warm and the bottom shelf has icicles. Just what we wanted - something else to have to pay for right now.

Yeah, I know, I probably still would've caught it. It's just annoying when coworkers come to work obviously ill and sit there hacking away...you just know you're going to get sick, it's just a matter of time.

I am feeling a bit better (I've been sitting at my desk for 2 hours without needing to lie down, yay!).

Thanks...I just keep muttering to myself 'this too shall pass' and hope that I'll believe it.

Sorry to hear about your fridge...ours does that when the freezer/ice box part needs to be defrosted...thankfully we have a hot air gun so it doesn't take me long to get it done.
