Add me to the Bah Humbug group. Just ready for Xmas to be over. In the early years of our marriage, holiday time spent with my in-laws was generally lots of fun. Now it's a chore I won't sign up for a whole week again if I can help it.

Hugs to you and to anyone else feeling this way.   [smiley=hug.gif]

This is how Christmas is for me every year at my in-laws.  This year we actually stayed home, and that has made all the difference.

This sounds really petty and I appreciate all my Christmas gifts.  After my mom was sick she asked me what I would like for Christmas.  I told her warm things as I live in a cold climate.  I adore her, but all my gifts were sundresses and short sleeved things.  My sister who lives here in California where it's 60 degrees got all sweaters.  Ok, I know you want me to move home- but I live in England currently, I cannot change that.   :P

Thanks!  :-*

Once we actually got to Christmas Eve & Christmas Day, then it was okay (because much booze was involved!!).  It was just a horrible five days leading up to.  :P

But we came home yesterday so it's nice to be home again too!  :)

Glad you had a nice Christmas!  Love to all of you & yours there.  [smiley=hug.gif]

Not getting the blizzard that the rest of the east coast did. :( I wanted a day off from work!
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

It is pouring buckets outside and I have to walk to the bus stop with all my stuff to get the bus to town, then get over to the train station. My in-laws don't have a car, and it costs 30 euro to get a taxi, but my BIL has a car. Do you think he's offered to drive me? Not a chance.  >:(

I think I would have shamelessly asked him to drive me, point blank! I hope you don't have to walk!!

Oh no, we walked! DH came with me. We had huge umbrellas, but were still soaked by the time we got to the bus stop. I was fuming by then and told DH that it would have been nice if he'd offered to drive us at least to the bust stop! The problem is my BIL has no social skills. It would have never crossed his mind to be nice and offer to help and for some reason my DH wouldn't ask in a million years. This is how my family is totally different from DH's and why I want to be closer to mine.  :-\\\\

OMG... I gave rides to people because taking the bus to and from a country house I worked at was inconvenient and difficult.  If you can help someone, you do, especially if they are family.

That's because you're normal and assume other people are normal too!  :P
