Woke up in the middle of the night and suddenly had to run to the bathroom to pray to the porcelain gods.  My stomach was a bit sore when I went to bed but I wasn't expecting that!  :-\\\\

My meringues look like puddles on a baking sheet. So much for my first attempt...  :(
Don't feel bad - I can bake a cook all sorts of wonderful and complicated things, but meringues have ALWAYS eluded me! Mine turned out completely flat, which my husband famously called "mer-wrongs", heehee!

NoseOverTail - ugh that was me on Christmas night! Thankfully my stomach is *finally* feeling better today, about 90% back to normal now.
Summer 97 - first visited friends in London
99-00 - studied at Uni of Sussex on exchange
Feb 02 - moved to London on BUNAC
Sep 02 - WP granted (IT skills shortage list)
Sep 04 - WP renewed
Sep 06 - WP renewed again (screwed by 4-5 year ILR change)
Sep 07 - ILR!
March 09 - Citizenship!
July 09 - bone marrow transplant :(
18 Sep 10 - wedding!
Mar 12 - half marathon in Paris! 1:47:12!
Oct 12 - Amsterdam FULL marathon! 3:48:23!

Glad to know it's not just me! Thankfully I was just intending to use them in some Eton Mess, so it didn't matter that they turned out looking a bit rubbish. They at least tasted okay. Hopefully I'll manage to get them to appear a bit better in the future. And I'm going to pray my BF never hears the word 'mer-wrong', because I'll never hear the end of it!  :P

I hope all of you who are ill start feeling better soon!

I had a filling today and it is taking a *really* long time for the novocaine to wear off. I feel like my jaw is sliding off my face.

We were supposed to have a house full of people, so I've cleaned it from top to bottom.  Now, two people can't come because they are ill (fair enough) and most people are going to stay with a friend in a two up two down, when we live in a house with lots of room.  And, to top it all off, the gorgeous fog has abandoned me and now it's just back to being gray.    :(

Didn't get my meat into the slow cooker until 1pm. It's gonna be a late dinner for us!

My endless battle with clutter that existed before I even moved in here (BF has a tendency to stuff things in drawers/cupboards/etc).  I can only dream of what it will be like when we move, and I can start over from scratch.

The new washer we got a few months ago isn't working.  First it sounded like the motor was really struggling.  We decided to open up the filter to make sure nothing was stuck (found a 20p piece in there but nothing else).  Replaced filter cover, and now the washing machine does nothing.  I don't know why checking the filter would do this, maybe we didn't put it back correctly.

Either way, I'm just going to pretend it hasn't happened and deal with it tomorrow.  It's Sunday anyway.  :(

They don't have Candyland over here and it would be the perfect gift for my niece.

Probably a bit more effort then you're looking for, but they have it at Toys R'Us (I was there today and nearly bought it for my son as it was on sale) and I did see you can order and pick up in Dublin....http://www.toysrus.co.uk/info/trubw-ireland-express-pick-up.jsf.

Thanks, I looked on the UK ToysRus website and didn't see it on there. Unfortunately, it's a bit far to go out where the pick up location is. Thanks though! Another IA is I tried to buy a Peppa Pig game instead and Amazon won't ship it to Ireland. Another site wanted to charge 25 GBP to send it 'internationally'. The game is only 10 quid! The local toy shop here is crap and doesn't do delivery orders.

Dh & I went to Subway for lunch today an the guy that served us wasn't a happy a camper at all. we both ordered footlong subs when it came to the part where you tell them what you want on your sandwich he was super stingy with the toppings. Dh only has onions, lettuce,& green peppers Dh asked for extra onions an the guy only gave him a bit so Dh asked for some more an he only gave him a bit more again. then when I asked for my toppings I only have pickles, lettuce,& tomato's I asked for extra pickles he gave me 3 pickle slices I kid you not :o so I asked for more an he gave me 3 more slices I asked for some more an he said I will have to charge you for anymore toppings he was dead serious. [smiley=mean.gif] so I asked for some ranch dressing he squirted a bit on my sandwich I asked if I could some more the look I got you would have thought I asked for his first born child I kid you not. ::)  :P Dh & I have never had problems at Subway before an we used to go there quite frequently but stopped cause we didn't have a cheat day the last 2 months before our trip home to the States. I can see charging more for extra meat or cheese but it was for some extra onions, extra pickles, & ranch dressing so we weren't breaking the bank for Pete's sake. ::)  :P  Dh wrote a complaint email letter to Subway about the guy who waited on us there was no need for that from him towards us also the way he kept looking at either of us wasn't very nice at all either!!

Freezing my butt off!  Electric fire, blanket and wearing a scarf indoors won't get rid of this bone chill.   ::)
