Phone calls and letters from lawyers wanting to represent me in my claim due to injury, loss of work and personal property stemming from an auto accident on Nov 25. Um.. it was a fender bender with no injury, no loss of work, and a tiny crumple to one fender.

It was such a tiny thing, 99% me annoyed at the inexperienced driver who ran a stop sign so that slamming on my brakes resulted in a tiny bump, and 1% damage to our cars. We could have had her insurance fix the car but it wasn't enough to mess with. It wasn't worth reporting here, or on FB or Twitter. It was right at Christmas when all the lawyers started in, most from 45 to 200 miles away! None of them have been local so far.

My oldest sister has been in & out of the hospital several times since way before Christmas & now. She was in & out of the hospital several times throughout last year as well. That's 1 of the reasons I went home last year an was there for 3 months. She stopped drinking nearly a year & half ago an is suffering from complications of that she was a seriously heavy drinker. My 4th sister only told me she was in the hospital again on this past Wen an she had been in the hospital since a week ago Thurs. My 4th sister said she didn't want to worry me is why she didn't tell me beforehand. My oldest sister had another complication this week her brain got swollen she didn't even know her own daughter for a while. My sister cant be left on her own so she went into a nursing home on Friday so she can have round the clock care. My 2nd sister who is a registered nurse is helping take care of her as well. My oldest sister is only 54 its very heartbreaking. My IA is that I'm here an I cant do anything to help I feel so helpless.  :(  :\\\'(

I am so sorry to hear this, shugga. Many hugs from me! I know it is frustrating to be so far away and unable to do anything.

I've been waiting to legally change my name til I get a job (so I'm not without my BRP and suddenly get a job offer) but I'm slowly working towards changing the stuff over that I can...like my bank account, loyalty cards, and now setting up a new e-mail.

But, my married name is a common name...which means I couldn't have the gmail address I really wanted :( but i got close with my last name, shortened first name and middle initial. I was surprised I could get that and not have numbers to be honest!

Nearly mowed down as I was crossing a side street yesterday.  I was about halfway across when this speed demon came flying around the curve of the road and bore down on me (mind you, there is a primary school on this street!)  Being obstinate, I refused to jump out of his way so he beeped at me.   >:(  He got the appropriate salute.

Today. Sometime this morning while getting ready for work, I busted a knuckle, and didn't notice it until later. On the way to work the car cut out twice while driving, which means on my day off tomorrow I have to find a mechanic and see what is wrong. After work the vacuum clogged, and while trying to unclog it, the hose was punctured, so we will probably have to get a new vacuum. Hubby filed the taxes online, and it kept bouncing back saying my name and social security number didn't match. It was a tiny typo that we somehow overlooked, but it was frustrating.

Between the car and the vacuum, we are probably looking at a delay in booking our flights to the UK. Sigh. We're still projecting September for the visit, but wanted to get the flights booked as soon as possible.

Tomorrow is going to be better! If it isn't, I am going to drown myself in chocolate until I forget my sorrows.  ;D

Suppose it is time to break out the chocolate.. or go buy some. I just had an enjoyable day off ruined, while in a hot bubble bath no less, with the news that the owner is having a fit over how many hours I am getting, and wants them cut. Housekeepers get about 5 hours a day, but I was getting 8, because I do extra, such as cleaning the meeting room, vending rooms, pool area, etc. The owner feels the manager should be doing all of that. That is 3 - 4 hours of cleaning a day, which takes 3 - 4 hours away from managing the place, or adds the time to his schedule, on salary. I will now have to fit those 3-4 hours worth of work into one, and some of the morning work won't get done because it can't be done in the afternoons.

Because the manager is my dearest friend, he did some talking and finally got him to agree to letting me have 6 hours a day instead of five. That still cuts me down 8 hours a week, since I work one day each weekend and that is only 6.

I now have the choice of dropping hubby off at 7 and coming home, doubling gas consumption for the work week with less hours, or just sitting there for two hours every morning. Suppose I will get caught up on my reading.

It just seems like he is being overly freaked out over paying me for 8 more hours a week. He has never seen me wasting time or riding the time clock. It would be understandable if I was just there to get money and not doing work for it.

Very sorry shugga - Good thoughts to you and your sisters.

Thanks TamaMoo & PB. I'm going home the end the month to see my sister & family. My 2Nd sister told me she was put back into hospital again a few days ago her electrolytes were very low again. My 4Th sister said she was supposed to get out today hopefully she does.

TamaMoo sorry your head boss is being stingy grouch with your hours that bites big time.  ::) Enjoy some American choc for me as well lol.   ;D

I'm having some fairly severe round ligament pain right now. Like, I can't stand for long periods or walk comfortably. It's uncomfortable to sit, stand, lay down, etc. Tylenol isn't really touching it. My doctor is like, well, it's muscular pain, have a nice day! Not easy when you have a toddler to take care of and you can't even stand long enough to change his diaper. I've called around to try and get a prenatal massage this weekend, but I've had no luck.  :\\\'(

Death.  I'm so friggin sick of it I'm about to scream.  I get mourning.  I know I need to.  But to go from not losing anyone close, to losing--since July--my Nana [my best friend], my closest cousin's 3 month old baby [SIDS], AND just three weeks ago and very unexpectedly my very own Daddy [who I was super close to, who lived with us, and who was WAY TO YOUNG to die of natural causes].  I can't seem to get it together just to function on even a very basic level, and every time I try I get too tired or fall off the wagon again or just FREAK OUT and start shouting at everyone. I just wanna feel okay.  So I can get on with it. :(

That's far worse than an inconvenient annoyance, Wren.  So sorry to hear of all your losses.

So very sorry, Wren. One is hard, but when they come so close together, it is harder to process. Give yourself time. No one grieves at a set rate, or in a set way. With some people the pain will have flare ups years and years later. You will find your balance in time.

Mine pales in comparison, but having my card declined at the grocery store, only to go to the bank to find out my card had been cancelled and flagged as lost/stolen/fraudulent because we booked flights yesterday and it was outside our normal spending. It was our first time through this bank.

Once it was discovered what the problem was, a quick call to Visa's fraud department to verify the purchase cleared things up. I suppose it is a good thing, because if someone had gotten my card it would have been frozen before they went crazier than we have money for.

My university now uses the national clearing house to process transcript requests. The upside is the request can be submitted online now....but now they charge, and it takes longer (which means I won't get them in time for a job interview I just got invited to on the 25th), and signing the stupid consent with my trackpad was extremely hard and frustrating...the line kept disconnecting and after about 10 minutes I gave up and just let it look like a 5 year old scribbled it.

I went to a quite pricey private institution and had to pay a graduation fee which we were always told covered the cost of our diploma and transcripts for life. The fee was only $2.25 which isn't bad...but I'm just annoyed at the situation.
