Yeah true, the cat would not enjoy being alone in the car for 2 hours...but on the positive side he has lots of car experience being shuttled back and forth between my and my mother's house monthly when he goes on vacation.

It's sounding more complicated to move a feline than a human.

Just wanted to add a note to this important thread relaying that my dog & I safely made it to the UK, arriving at Heathrow on the morning of 12 July!  All went went well.  Had bit of a scare at Dulles at the Briitsh Airways World Cargo drop-off place, as the fellow took loads and loads of photos of my dog (who was quite wiggly) in front of her crate to show that she fit the size crate I'd gotten -- luckily just fit!

The computers at the Animal Reception Centre at Heathrow were down, so it actually took about 6 hours to get my dog.
