Okay, now I'm reading The Audacity of Hope because I promised myself I'd read it before Obama's inaguration.
Excellent idea - and a great book! (I finished it before Christmas).
Since then I have also read
Watching the English, which was recommended by Legs Akimbo. I highly recommend this book as well, it will save people a lot of aggravation and frustration based on not realising that often what is frustrating them is not personal or necessarily meant to be insulting to them, it is often simply happening as part of a different culture that people need to understand and adapt to if they want to live and work more harmoniously in the UK.
I am now reading
The Kite Runner which is fantastic so far. I read
A Thousand Splendid Suns (by the same author) several months ago, for the London book club, and really thought it was a great book. I love the author's writing style - I feel as though he has grabbed me by the neck to command and hold my attention.
Next up is
Tortilla Curtain, to be completed before the next London book club meeting!
