Finished Wuthering Heights.  Meh.  Still don't like it.  How did it get a reputation as such a great romantic novel?  It is filled with horrible, self-centred people, I don't want any of them to get together with anyone else!!!

(Must find something a little more uplifting for my next read...)
When I am grown-up I will understand how BEAUTIFUL it feels to administrate my life effectively.

Until then I will continue to TORCH all correspondence that bores me and to dance NAKED over the remnants of its still glowing embers.

I just started The Scarlet Letter.  It has taken me this long to get around to it!

I've been on an unintentional book haitus for a bit, but finally have the time to start reading again.  I'm just finishing up Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs: A Low Culture Manifesto by Chuck Klosterman.  I've been enjoying it a lot, but have to admit that I'm a bit embarrassed by how much I agree with his cynicism.

I also picked up Mountain Man Dance Moves: The McSweeney's Book of Lists, which is FREAKIN' HYSTERICAL.  It's really a one-time read book, but is definitely worth it!

Does it count if I checked it out from the library but didn't read it before I had to return it?   :-[

A couple of weeks ago, I finished Marley and Me.

What an enjoyable, easy read.

I'm re-reading Tender Is the Night for book club. I haven't read it in over 20 years, and I never cease to be blown away by Fitzgerald's incredible writing.

Has anyone ever read anything by Richard Powers?

He just won the US National Book Award

I read The Time of Our Singing and in it he wrote the most perfect moment I have ever read (full on chills that stays with you forever kind of moment).  He is truly a fabulous writer - I am looking forward to reading The Echo Maker

I haven't, but thanks for the information.  I'm going to get both for my dad and Rich.  Looks like the books they love to read.
