They used to have them here.  They were attached to Baskin Robbins.  All I want is DD coffee.

I worked for 4 years at a police department while putting myself through school.  It is a FACT that at that police department, the cops hung out at Dunkin Donuts (or Delta Delta as they referred to it on the radio).  They claim it was because it was a 24 hour joint....  yeah right.   ;D

"With a great emphasis on London" - aye ok!

Being in Barnsley it's unlikely we'll ever see one, maybe in Meadowhall or up in Leeds but I ain't going there just for a coffee and doughnuts!

Was chuffed to bits to read this but sad to hear they are going to concentrate on London :(
All I can do is hope they make it up to the Fife region of Scotland.

Sorry to be the one to pour cold water on all of your celebrations, but I really really hope they aren't successful enough to spread anywhere from London, particularly not down here to Cornwall.  >:(

We had a Dunkin Donuts in Glasgow back in the 80's.  Looks like they are trying to ride the coat tails of Krispy Kreme and make a comeback... I hope neither of them come through here.  Just what we need, more American stuff.  ::)

Mixed about this.  I do like Dunkies, but I really view it as something to look forward to when I return to Boston.  Here, I love Costa.  It'll be interesting to see how Dunkies does here, though.

I'm a big fan of local, non-American businesses in foreign countries, but I think I would have been okay with a DD. There are no good donuts in any of the regular outlets. They wouldn't be putting anyone out of business and their coffee isn't any better than the local places.

This is why I don't want them. You can get better coffee in any local coffee shop, but the local places don't have the big money behind them so they're always going to lose the game. There's no level playing field.

It's not that they're American (well, not ONLY), it's also that they're a big soul-less chain.

Oh, and we saw DD when we were in Cologne and the donuts weren't that nice. Very disappointing.

This!!!!

Doubtful they'd make it anywhere near me, so that's fine by me!

And anyways, when it comes to really awesome coffee in donut shops, it's all about Dippin Donuts anyways!!! ;)  (But it can stay in America too, as a nice treat to have when I visit)
