Right, flight booked for next Tuesday, due to land next Wednesday, 10 June.  One week!

I take it I don't need any documents other than the visa at the UK border, unlike with student visas.

Hello there,
I started my online application on May 06 on the visa4uk site.
Biometric appointment fingerprints and picture on May 18th
All payments completed same day paid through credit card.
Application fee plus nhs fee of 900 dollars
Sent in all supporting documents on May 25 via vfs global paid for sending and returning documents.
Received acknowledgement email from Sheffield office on May 28th says; your online application has been received in Sheffield UK "your application is currently being prepared for consideration by an entry clearance officer"
Now 4 and half weeks later still nothing from the UKVI

About to be the 6th week of waiting hoping to hear something this week, hopefully it doesn't take the 12 weeks period given on the UKVI site...

Same... It's hard to wrap up your life without an answer. :(  I feel like only priority ones are coming through at all right now.

Silverbrooke- did you file priority?

I am seriously thinking about paying for priority. I'm actually preparing to mail things off today, but I haven't paid for the shipping labels yet. I'm online, and the $562 priority fee is staring at me. Can I afford it? Not really. But I can technically pay for it right now. Not sure what to do.
April 2015: married
May 2015: submitted online application, set biometric appointment, realized we needed more time to gather paperwork which would exceed 30 days, freaked out, canceled applications, waited for refunds
June 25: submitted online application again
July 2: attended biometrics
July 6: package mailed to Sheffield with priority
July 8: package delivered to Sheffield
July 10: received acknowledgment email from Sheffield
July 12: received "decision has been made" email from Sheffield
July 15: passport returned by post with 30-day visa

I feel the same during this time of year it seems like the waiting time is getting longer and longer... If you haven't pay for the labels yet I would totally consider the extra money and pay it! It all depends how long you are willing to wait... This is my 6th week and still nothing and didn't pay the priority fee :(

Yeah. Our situation is, ideally, I've got to be in the UK for the beginning of September, because we already have tickets to fly back to NYC in mid-September for a friend's wedding. If he doesn't have his passport back, then he's obviously going nowhere and we've wasted money buy airfare.

We didn't want to have to pay for priority on top of EVERYTHING else ($936 healthcare surcharge - ugh; $1491 visa application fee, gah), but paying through the nose seems to be the name of the game. Luckily hubby is starting a new job next week that will pay more.
