Just tried to reply and it kicked me out. Sorry it this posts twice. ::)

MrsHandy, I sent my entire to application to NY on March 11th and they delivered it back to me on March 14th with the same letter redirecting me to send it to Sheffield. I'm not sure whether or not it had to do with my shipping method, but I paid for overnight priority both ways so it gets back into my hands in 12 hours. Costs a pretty penny to do it TWICE! (NJ to NY and NJ to Sheffield). I completely blame the old UKBA site... it said on my application to send it to NY even though I knew better. "Bloody hell!" I think it adds to my impatience bc I know as soon as they approve it I should have it back in 12 hours provided it ships that day. SO CLOSE!!!

Did you upgrade to priority? We've been adding to this post so much that it's impossible to back and find previous posts anymore lol.
6 March: application completed
10 March: biometrics taken
11 March: application received by BCG NY
14 March: application returned by BCG NY
14 March: application posted via FedEx
17 March: Sheffield confirms delivery
20 March: "confirmation" email that process has begun
26 April: upgraded to priority processing
28 April: Sheffield confirms upgrade to priority
28 April: assigned to an ECO, requests more documentation
1 May: "a decision has been made" e-mail (visa approved 29 April)
2 May: visa arrives; returned to the UK

NatCatCole, you're so lucky you got yours back so quickly! I sent my application packet to NY on Feb 5th, got there the 7th, got it back to me March 8th(a Saturday), then sent it to Sheffield on the 10th and it was delivered the 12th, got the "application received" email on the 13th, and paid to have it upgraded to priority on Monday, then they bumped it up to the front of the queue on Tuesday morning...
I'm just hoping that month it was just sitting in NY doesn't screw me over...

OMG duh, it was right in your timeline below! My bad. God that sucks. I can't believe they held onto it for a MONTH. I feel that part of the application process was very unfair for us. Follow the directions vs. instinct... Should've gone with my gut! AHHH, we're next tho. Get ready...

And thirdly, I googled reviews on some of those travel companies and some of the reviews  (like on tripadvisor)  and the "good reviews" are posted by people who only ever made one review (which was that glowing review about the company) and that just seemed kinda fishy to me...

I'm going to see what hubby thinks, my brain is so frazzled with all of this I don't know if I'm coming or going ...

Actually, most of the bad reviews were from
Single posters ... Can't remember where but there was one single poster really complaining about it and there were a few responses from posters that had like 4000+ posts under their belts saying by what the OP wrote, the situation was completely their fault not the sites ...

I wonder if I click my heels together three times, the travel fairy will appear and help me figure all this out ...

Oh no ... Lack of sleep & frazzled brain NOT a good combination ...

FutureMrsHandy, you are going to be ok. I cannot see them refusing you based on their error for not changing the website. And if by the slight chance they do (I firmly believe they won't) file an appeal based on incorrect information.

I'm sure one of the guru's will chime in if they haven't already.

NatCatCole, lol no worries!(: but yeah, it sucks so much!! But I feel that there was nothing I could really do once I realized it was in the wrong place... I even sent about 7 inquiries to worldbridge (when they were still handling things) because I had no other way to obtain any information... And kept getting generic responses about settlement and non-settlement applications, and then in the last email I finally got a reply saying it was "definitely there and being forwarded to Sheffield"... Mind you this reply was sent AFTER I had already gotten my documents returned to me!!! I wanted to choke someone! Lol ridiculous!
So hopefully I'll be okay as I did exactly was I was told to do and provided the letter from the NY office....

NMF921, let me know what you end up doing, and how it goes
If that site is legitimate, I'm most likely going to be using them! Their prices are great! Lol
But I understand the frazzled mind! I'm going stir crazy staring at the screen seeing times and dates and prices and layovers and everything dealing with flights! Lol

Just wondering .. Has or did anyone else have any issues trying to make a payment on the VFS site for their priority upgrade .  i have tried 2 different cards on there now ..1 visa debit and the other mastercard.

Thanks!

Mrs. Roberts, I know I've said this a million times, but I really really hope so!!

Idk if filing an appeal would be worth it as I've heard they take a really long time! And my wedding is in September...

Also, ksand said earlier it should be fine
But I'm hoping someone from UKVI will email me back today with detailed info because I emailed them explaining my concern, I even included a letter explaining what happened on top of my application packet, with the letter from NY AND my receipt from the original payment for shipping the packet to NY with the date and tracking numbers... Easily they could see there is no doubt I sent it in within the 2 weeks required, and that it's not my fault it took them so long to return it to me...

I purchased priority on Monday evening (about 6pm central time) and didn't have any issues... Idk about anything since then unfortunately

LOL that's funny Mrs. Roberts ... I'm always in there ... It's my mainline to stay in contact with everyone here when I am in the UK ..

And FutureMrsHandy I will let you know what we decide to do... Hubby is doing a double shift, so I most likely won't get to really talk to him until tomorrow night ... But I agree, there are some amazing prices in there. Not to mention the flight that I'm really interested in is a non stop to Heathrow... I usually fly in through Gatwick, and for some reason I always got hassled by the most horrible IO's there ... Granted - I am now the proud recipient of a spouse visa, but my luck, I would still get stopped and detained by them ...

Oh and remember ... Tomorrow is a brand new day & it's going to be a great day for all of you .... I'm throwing those positive vibes to you guys, and my fingers are crossed ...

NMF921 I always fly into Heathrow, an also always have the grumpiest IO! They can't even crack a smile! I hate the terribly cold shoulder I get, and that's because I always greet them with a smile and a happy demeanor despite sitting on my a$$ for nearly 10 hours, feeling like I need a hot shower and on 4 hours of sleep! Lol I've never been able to fly into Gatwick, Luton, or Stansted because I can never find the flights from where I live... Plus it's always a lot more expensive to fly into those airports...

Let's hope today is the day! I have my "FareLock" until Friday afternoon, so hopefully I hear some good news when I wake up today or tomorrow!

My fingers are crossed for you ....

The first time I travelled to the UK I flew into Heathrow, but then Virgin Atlantic started their direct flight from Vegas and I really liked that... Only drawback was it went to Gatwick. And for a 9 hr non stop I couldn't pass it up..

Omg, I just had to stop myself from writing a complete book in here... Thank you backspace delete ... And on that note, I think I should try to get some sleep tonight ...

Looking forward to seeing a very happy post from you tomorrow ... I will be checking in all day long ...

Have a good rest of the night ...

Just to clarify - it's just my opinion that you should be fine... I'm not an immigration advisor and I'm not privy to any inside knowledge on how UKBA works (I'm a meteorologist and I participate in this forum in my spare time. My knowledge of UKBA and the visa process is due to spending the last 7.5 years on this forum and gaining information through the UKBA website and other peoples' visa application experiences).

I am basing my opinion on the fact that it's UKBA's mistake and if you were likely to get refused because of the biometrics, presumably they wouldn't have told you to just send the application on to Sheffield, they would have told you to reapply and resubmit your biometrics.

I constantly find myself writing very long winded replies! Lol so I wouldn't have minded!(:

But that's awesome! I know there's an airline that flies from here to Vegas for very cheap, I think it's like $100 (Allegiant air I believe) i tried looking for secondary flight routes like that, but then I realize I'll be paying double for my second checked back and I can't just afford that! Lol oh well....

And thank you! I'm hoping I hear good news soon as well! I usually stay up till about 5 am every night a) because my sleep schedule is messed up and b) because I'm hoping I get an email! Lol

Have a good night as well!
