Hello all.
We submitted our marriage visa packet with all the documentation, non priority on August 4. It arrived in Sheffield August 8. It was supposed to go to the HM Forces section; but we think it wound up in the civilian section. We have still heard no word, received no email, nor have they answered our solicitor's emails. Today our solicitor has lodged a formal complaint; to which she says they have to respond. The packet not only contains a US passport, but vital information of a personal nature of a member of the British HM forces.
Good news is, she says if they don't respond by Wednesday, she is going to bring our case up to a member of parliament in a meeting she has scheduled, because there are other wives of HM forces officers who applied at the same time as us and they are there already.
I am floored and disheartened that we have heard no response at all. She is confident I will be there before Christmas, but I cannot help losing hope. Meanwhile, my husband and I have been separated for over a month now, which has been hard with not knowing. We were married in Fl in July. We had previously been used to being separated because of the long distance relationship, but he had been stationed here a few months, and we got used to being together all the time, so now it feels weird to be apart.
Is anyone else in a similar predicament? Any other non priorities from August who are still here or who have not even received word?
