I thought this was interesting- MP's on YouTube discussing the Spousal Visa situation January 2017

Thank you so much for posting this. I'm having a low day with the wait and as is my husband who is generally the voice of optimism. This gave me some comfort to see that the debate is very much alive but saddened that it is clear that under the current climate, the rules are unlikely to flex and therefore UKVI will continually make errors due to the pressures of draconian rules which divide the poor and wealthy exponentially.

For our personal situation just a live, carefully maintained, tracker for actual 'Outside of the UK' applicants - Some transparency is better than none.

On the plus side it's sunny in my part of the UK and I'm now making fabric birthday banners for my friend's surprise part...The little things count so much  :)

I will be joining the knitting circle tomorrow! Husband's employer finally sorted the payslips so they will be in hand at 10:30am tomorrow for us to submit the app! He's already agreed to write a letter about the process to his MP once we are through it. The more U.K. Citizens voicing concerns the better!

Yikes! I've been super absent from the knitting circle. I casted on a sock while traveling to Lake Superior, where I had limited wifi. Then when I got back down south I got sucked into the newest season of Orange is the New Black, which was WAY too exciting to watch and knit. I'm glad I waited to watch it. Bingeing definitely helped kill time waiting for the UPS delivery and even once I had my visa (Thursday) because I couldn't get two seats on a direct flight until this Thursday.

I totally agree--- we have to be vocal once we make it out of this gruelling process...very vocal--- I will be very grateful to be there in the UK with my amazing husband-- but we will be vocal--- no one should have to endure this insane process---

Glad you enjoyed OITNB, I've seen mixed reports about this season. I've been holding off watching it, I feel like I'm saving it for a special occasion haha!

Safe journey on Thursday!  :)

Yay - I have been thinking about your sock. My knitted square is still four rows and no OITNB as an excuse either. I think I chickened out on it (OITNB not the square) when I was told it was all getting a bit dark - I just wanted the love stories! I did binge watch Ghost Whisperer but don't tell anyone!

That should totally be an ad for OITNB - 'OITNB, way too exciting to watch and knit'

YES!!!! It really was. And for comparison: I knitted an entire sweater while watching all seasons of Peaky Blinders this winter--basically figured out how to knit without looking at my hands because I needed the subtitles on to understand everyone much to my husband's chagrin.

I've found I enjoy the backstories, love stories and political commentary of the last few seasons compared to the shock and gross-out moments of the first season. The first few episodes this season maintained what I like about the show but, yes, as Larrabee mentioned above there was an episode or two that got too dark. I am glad there are two more seasons confirmed!

I like the idea of making a pile of squares but I hate attaching them. Any suggestions for neat and quick ways to do it? I crocheted two Granny Square blankets in the last 10 years and I dreaded stitching them all together both times.

Who knows this sock's fate? I'm more of a winter knitted so once the days get shorter and the house is unpacked I'll definitely be cranking out wool socks that I won't need on the stinking hot Victoria Line.

Hmm, maybe I'll have to watch the rest of the OITNB seasons when my wife is here to protect me!  :P

I think there are some pretty able patient and accomplished crafts people on this thread who will no doubt have some good sewing together ideas (I am not among them!) With the collective scarf it was all about the process and the community and lots of different levels of ability, so it was colourful and varied rather than neat and symmetrical :)

Yes the underground can get a little warm!

I LOVE that anthem! I've only just started the process, but you've captured the emotional spectrum extremely well! As for killing time, I'm taking three online courses and working out four times a day-helps to rid me of *most* of the anxiety :)
