Listerine!
« on: April 17, 2018, 02:12:09 PM »
Not sure if this is the best place on the forum for this question, but here goes:

I'm desperate to find **Listerine Healthy White Vibrant White** mouthwash (to be used after brushing.)

This is the stuff that has dental-grade peroxide and whitens within 5 days. It is a holy grail product-- absolutely LOVE IT!

Have looked at U.K. alternatives (there are none that are even comparable, including Peroxyl & others.)

Anyone know where to get it in the U.K.? Or know if an online seller who will ship to the U.K.? So far, I've struck out.

Since it's probably the peroxide that's doing the whitening, ever thought of using dilute peroxide?

I hadn't really, only because I don't know what I'm doing:) And I actually just love everything about that Listerine- taste and results!

This link shows that they will ship to the UK.  :)  Not cheap but if you want it badly enough at least you know that you can get it!   :)

Ah, I know that one. Ya get used to a mouthwash or a toothpaste.

When we first got here we got a Listerine mouthwash that was horrifically disappointing. It was sweet and I couldn't sort out if it was working or not, as far as helping prevent decay.  Then found "Listerine Total Care" (mint) and it's a lot closer to that "singe off your tastebuds" Listerine from the States.  I think we got it at either Boots, Tesco, or, potentially, Waitrose. Not an exact match, but I'm happier with it.

I've emailed the manufacturer to see if it's available anywhere in the U.K.
If not, I will absolutely pay £40 for it. I hoped it wouldn't come to that, but what can I say? It is THAT good!! :)

Wow! For me to pay forty pounds it'd have to regrow my teeth!  ;D  More power to ya. I can't point fingers, I just paid 12 pounds for a couple of bottle of BBQ sauce to be sent over.

I've lived in the U.K. for a week now & I'm telling you, I 'miss' the oddest things- mouthwash, lip balm, detergent, sunscreen (always important- sun or not!)

Do you have anyone who could send you a care package?

Well, they are familiar things! Not odd at all.

I am still pining for my laundry soap. They used to sell it, when we first got here, but now the company is not trading in the UK. (7th Generation "free and clear").  We are using an "eco" substitute but it's not working as well.  Ya just want some things to be the same.

(PS Don't go to Taco Bell expecting the same flavors. They regionalize the food. If you like Pizza Hut, it's close - and they have some flavors that are interesting as well. Dominoes has a chicken tika pizza that is nice. Not a flavor you'd think of on a pizza, but ya have to be open to new things!)

Oh. Lip balm. If you do Burt's Bees, they have that here.  ;D

Oh. And care packages. The US Postal Service, for your future reference:

https://www.usps.com/ship/shipping-restrictions.htm

And while I was researching, I found that you cannot mail a cadaver. No, really.

Daughter stuck her head in and said when she was working at the hospital they used FedEx for cadavers and body parts. (She is serious.)

Just in case you ever need to order one.  ;)

eBay may be cheaper than Amazon.
