I just had a look at glassdoor, and according to them, I’m £3k over the national average base pay. So I guess that’s encouraging.

I don’t think I will ask. It would just come across all wrong - you know, pushy American lol. I will stick it out for a while. Get stuck in. Learn and hone my skills at a global company. Get some experience under my belt. Reevaluate in time.

I got the job through an agency, but am reluctant to ask her. It’s a perm position though so the company agreed the salary. There was no mention of ranges (I should have asked...I’m really kicking myself right now).

Perhaps you could mention that you gave them a low figure because you were factoring in your lack of UK experience  (or something like that)  but you would expect to re-visit the topic once you're up and running smoothly.

I’ve lived here since 2013. Smh haha. Lesson 1: one must negotiate salary in the private sector. I’m used to the NHS’s agenda for change. So much more transparent lol

That is encouraging.  £3k over average does sound very good!

I don't think there is any harm in asking the recruiter what kind of salary you could expect for a similar after you have UK experience.  ;)

I was about to brag about my dedicated laundry room until I realized I've done the laundry-in-the-kitchen thing even worse.... kitchen-in-the-laundry is a step backwards, I think.

Got it now.  They don’t stand out with the new format!  I’ll reply from work tomorrow as it’s easier there.   :D
