Ha ha ha!!! I guess I got really lucky then with my husband. He loves it! But from now on I won't make large quantities of it or anything else American for that matter. I have learned the hard way to just cook those dishes for him and myself.

My husband enjoys a lot of American food and, for that, I'm thankful...but I certainly don't want to push it! hahaha the second I serve him anything with marshmallows on it I know sh*t will go down! lol

Mmmmm Oddfellows! Thanks for giving me a bit of Seattle with that comment. There's no place like home

Kerinay - haha  I love that place. I also love how many Seattlites there are on here! Where abouts do you live over there? I seriously look forward to meeting some of you when we come over.

About the Brits not trying foods - Well I'm going to force-feed some of them my grandmothers Corn Casserole that I make every Thanksgiving. It's just about the only thing I make that comes out right haha   And if any of them turn their noses up at it I'll say "I've come over here and eaten haggis twice and your horrible pickled onions. You're going to open your mouth and eat this corn casserole! (It has 2 sticks of butter and a table spoon of sugar and is to die for. Maybe quite literally. haha A good ole' Southern recipe).

Man, we should plan that! A good ole' ex-pat Thanksgiving with people invited from around the country. A potluck. That would be awesome. I'm putting it on my list for when we move over. :)

That would be fun! And considering we'll all be missing the US at Thanksgiving time, it might be a great plan!  :)

There’s a group on fb called something like American women in the UK and I think their planning on doing one.

I’ve got a half day so I’m thinking about asking the other American at work over for a mini feast. My UK family just doesn’t get the sentiment if thanksgiving lik

You're far braver than I...I won't even pretend to want to try Haggis! hahaha ;) :p Will DEFINITELY try your corn casserole though! :)

Please tell me that actually happened!

Believe we've got one planned for the "Americans in the reading and wokingham areas of the UK - meetup" and I'm sure other local American expat groups on facebook will do the same too :)

Well I say nekid - he had on his socks and sneakers. We had him cornered, but he juked Loulou22 and took off across the heath.
