Planning my new kitchen appliances
« on: September 22, 2019, 05:01:10 PM »
I'm finally moving into a real house with a real life sized kitchen.

I'm currently passing my time by small kitchen appliance shopping.

In the US,  I had the top of the line professional versions of the Kitchen Aid and Vitamix.

After price shopping, those are out for me here. I don't want the Artisan KA because it is a step down from what I had and I won't do that to myself so I've decided to branch out and try new brands.

What about the Kenwood Multi One? It seems to do everything I want... mixer, blender, food processor, meat grinder... and at a price I am thrilled with.

I may also be shopping for an electric ice cream maker with a compressor. (My current one has a freezer bowl.)

And I will need a BBQ grill. I'm looking at a Char Broil infrared 2 or 3 burner propane grill. It is only 2 of us so I don't know that I really need the 3 burner but I'm thinking I want the cast iron grill attachment for the side burner.

Weighing out options is so hard!

What are your favourite kitchen must have appliances?

Thanks Albatross!

I really never thought I would be moving into a house here. I thought I would be forever in a postage stamp sized flat.

And it is so hard not to order stuff now but I won't have anywhere to put it until I move.  My Amazon wish list is getting pretty big. Lol

When's your entry date?   :D

You probably already have a slow cooker, but if you don't, I would recommend the Morphy Richards ones with the sear-and-stew function, cos you can brown the meat in the same pan that you slow-cook it in.

I don't have a closing date yet but I'm expecting 6-8 weeks at the most.  It could go a lot faster as there is no chain. The lady is already packed up and ready to move.

I have a slow cooker, an Instant Pot, immersion blender, regular blender, small food processor,  small blender, air dryer, deep fat fryer...

I actually have a lot of stuff but I have no where to store it for regular use so it is packed away unusable.  Lol

I'm a huge kitchen gadget and appliance lover. And I love glass jars and cast iron.

I can already see my new kitchen will be chock-a-block.

I was just thinking about you. And I swear, if you have a Quooker, I'm quitting our friendship. Lol

I was thinking,  Oh... I'll get a Quooker. I fancy that.

Then I looked at the price. I'll no be having that.

Just look up boiling water taps.  There’s a range of prices, as you would hope!  And Costco usually has one.

I'm sure there are built in safeguards but to me they just look like an accident waiting to happen!  :-\\\\

I know they are more expensive, but I HIGHLY recommend getting a Webber BBQ grill. We went with one and I have no regrets and am pleased we spent a bit more for it vs. the cheaper brands because I know it's going to last for a while and be sturdy. We got it because the thought was that it's a brand that has been around a long time so we can find parts easily enough to replace anything that needs replacing, it has a pretty good warranty on it, and has the best reviews. 5 stars from me! (we've had ours since June)

Yes... but do they also do cold water and sparkling water like the Quooker Cube?

Ok, so I've got a kettle and a Soda Stream already.  I just want a £2800 tap.

I'll need to look at them. I've really only been looking at Amazon since I'm a lazy shopper.  Lol
