They will be splitting nhs and elderly/vulnerable shopping times as sainsburys.

Also, Margo (and whomever else!), if they've not emailed you as somebody  they've identified as vulnerable based on the little information they have, please get in contact with them ASAP based on the below snipped from the Sainsburys email this morning so you can ensure you are marked to get a priority slot

Stay safe, Ksand.

Surely they'll send you guyz a supply ship?
The supply ship only comes here about 4 times a year... I think it’s due sometime in April and then later this summer.

Other than that, our fresh food comes from the UK via the RAF plane every 3 weeks or so.

The usual. American girl meets British guy. They fall into like, then into love. Then there was the big decision. The American traveled across the pond to join the Brit. And life was never the same again.

We're still trying to ring through now for my FIL. I know it says tomorrow but we are just going to see if there's anything we can do it be ready to do when they are ready tomorrow. They might tell us they aren't ready and to call back tomorrow but we want to at least try as my FIL literally has nobody but his carers around him and can't leave the house. Hopefully we can get him sorted between today and tomorrow.

That makes sense.

Tesco hasn't done anything about it's heavy use of delivery. It's frustrating. I was going to switch back to Sainsbury's anyway at the end of my 6 months (May), but I'm tempted to just do it now.

We think if we call now they might at least be able to tell us what we need to call back with tomorrow.

Do you still have your email registered? They aren't letting any new sign-ups through on the website just now.

I honestly wish they would just force everybody to sign up for food to be delivered! Then you can lock down how many items 1 household is getting and when and could have more control over the panic buying (and keeping people away from each other.

They simply don’t have enough vehicles and qualified drivers.  The drivers could be sorted quite quick...  vehicles are much harder

Yeah the vehicles would definitely be an issue. They should look to do deliveries for people who cannot get out and click and collect for the rest as it would just help add a bit more control and order

Yep. I've been logging in periodically and have paid for delivery from them when Tesco wasn't being helpful before the epidemic.

It was only in October that I switched to Tesco Delivery saver from Sainsbury's. I got tired of Sainsbury's smooshing my raspberries and banging up my apples and rage switched. My Tesco Extra does a 24 pack of Pepsi, had great baked cheesecake and I prefer their ready meals. So it was a rage switch but thought out.

I thought that would be an issue, but it really hasn't been, other than the damaged fruit.

Got through after a 45ish minute wait and they said they added comments and a flag to the account so that when we ordered for him, he should be able to get a slot! Fingers crossed at least... hoping everybody else that needs a slot is sorted as well.

I tried the line sainsbury's has for vulnerable people and it said it was closed until tomorrow? Which number did you use KoD? And their plan is still terrible, now rather than having the store most empty and least likely to have virus particles floating onto surfaces they're having NHS staff come in before the vulnerable. They clearly have no disabled/vulnerable people on their team making these decisions.

I'm still angry about ocado. They were our main shop for everything except condiments and basics that my husband would pick up between shops. They've seriously let the disabled people of this country down. It gave me independence and choice because of having more allergy friendly products and a much better front end than sainsbury's. We will get through this, but I will also be looking for more local food delivery sources after this and probably continuing the meat deliveries from Scotland since that seems high quality and not much different in price!
