Being able to watch the live streams of my nieces' dance recitals these past few weeks. And then being able to watch my niece's Kindergarten graduation live from the US on Zoom just now! It wouldn't have ever been a 'thing' to livestream before all this.
Isn't it amazing! It's come a long way since the funeral home failed to live-stream my dad's funeral service in 2013.
Anyway, we've had some unrelated good news today. In 2016, we bought our house with a 80% LTV mortgage. We're at the end of our fixed term and just got the renewal notice with valuation from our lender... after five years of repayments, and seeing in the news that house prices have been going up a bit, we were hoping to be close to 60% LTV, and we'd pay a small chunk to get us below that threshold if we were close enough to make a difference. But house prices have done crazy things around here, so we're at 50% LTV without any extra payments. Obviously, we still owe what we owe, but the cost of that debt is going to be cheaper. Yay!
EDIT: I just realized which thread I was in. I meant to post this in Little Moments of Happiness. It's not (directly) related to Covid... oh, but maybe it is... the crazy house prices are a result of everybody wanting more space... maybe I'll leave it here.
