Had to wear my heavy coat to bring husband for his covid jab. Cold, windy and rainy. :(

Well, here it had been in the lovely 70Fs until earlier this week when it started hitting 85F. That's supposed to last through Sunday, when it is to go back down to the mid-70Fs again. Thank goodness! (It's playing havoc with my garden. I had to transplant the tomatoes last evening, and went back out this morning to hang shade cloth over them so the sun doesn't scald them. Stopped in the hoop house to find that the squash and pumpkin seeds that were only just having their first true leaves last weekend have tendrils and are a bit yellowish today - need to be in the ground ASAP. So they'll go in tomorrow morning at sunup and should enjoy the sun and the heat! (I hate both. Thank goodness I have central A/C.)

Quick, take a photo so you have proof!  ;D

Seriously, I don't remember it being so cold (I think Glasgow was 41F? yesterday) in May. My first memory, though, of Glasgow weather was landing at the Edinburgh airport in June in 2015 to go visit my daughter at Uni and that my teeth were chattering by the time I got to the place I was staying. (She had us walk it from the bus station rather than taking a cab, and it started drizzling.) And then in May when we moved there in 2017 I was wearing jeans and a sweatshirt still. We went out to walk to the Botanics and had a basically clear sky and it started hailing rice-sized hail on us. So, the weather there has always seemed a bit wonky to me!

You guys are having it tough this year. Perhaps that will also mean you don't have any blistering heat that melts the roads or anything later on in the year. (hope, hope?)

It hasn't been this cold, in Scotland, for the entire month of May for 40 years.

My only hope is that this is just bringing us a delayed summer. We only had a couple of nice days in April so we didn't have our summer early.

On the bright side though, everything is so lovely and green!  :)

I loved the green! One walk I used to take took me up a street where the green strip of land in the middle of the road was a sea of daffodils in the spring. And the yards along the sides more often than not had beautiful rhododendrons blooming as well. Bad for the hayfever, great for the soun!  ;D

Meh.

I'm tired of being cold. My Raynaulds is causing too much pain in my hands. I shouldn't be locked in the house with the fire on in May.

At least it’s not as cold in the UK as here in the Falklands this week (strong winds and snow showers from tomorrow onwards):
