. Genuinely no idea. For me, both were direct deposit in my USA account.

Same goes for my son.

Mine arrived in the mail today - last one came in the mail as well. However I'm US based....and my social security was approved today as well- took at it 62. No telephone interview either. I suppose when I start my UK pension I'll tell them RE WEP - I did tell them that on the initial app.

Only complication I had was I had to send original birth certificate in the mail which made me nervous. But all good and returned to me.

Party on...

Does the second one have some additional limits, or is it pretty sure that if you got the first you will get the second?

I'm under the impression that if you qualified for the first one, you'll qualify for the second one.  But I don't know for certain.  A quick rundown of limitations (via a quick Google) seem to be unsurprising - high earners are excluded, students are excluded, people already receiving certain benefits are excluded, etc.

Same as first for qualifications. The amount will be different (more for kids, less for adults I think)

Y'all!  I just learned that the IRS "Get My Payment" tool was updated to give the status of the new stimulus, so I tried it...

Payment #1 status is still unavailable, which I expect because they never processed my tax return.

But Payment #2 is a check posted January 6th to the address they have on file for me.... and I think that's here!  And and, my husband paid for a VPN recently so I could change my phone's location, so now I have my credit union's app on my phone so I can deposit that check when it gets here!  $600 of surprise bonus money from the government!  Yay!

I'd still like to get the $1200 from the spring, but baby steps.

(Psst... Larrabee... I went another month not winning anything from my premium bonds.  My husband collected (well, reinvested) £75 this morning.)
9/1/2013 - "fiancée" (marriage) visa issued
4/6/2013 - married (certificate issued same-day)
5/6/2013 - FLR(M)#1 in person -- approved!
8/1/2016 - FLR(M)#2 by post -- approved!
8/5/2018 - ILR in person -- approved!
22/11/2018 - Citizenship (online, with NDRS+JCAP) -- approved!
14/12/2018 - I became a British citizen.  :)

I just checked it too and it says mine is being mailed here today. How do I deposit that here? Guess I’ll be calling the bank whenever it shows up.

I’m tempted to take this windfall and use it to buy more bitcoin. I bought a small amount last year and it’s gone up like crazy.  Too bad the amount was so small that the earnings are still small as well.

Most folks would use the official penalty-free IRS Streamlined Foreign Offshore Procedures (SFOP) as the lowest risk and lowest cost way of catching up. https://www.irs.gov/individuals/international-taxpayers/u-s-taxpayers-residing-outside-the-united-states

Yeah, it’s not as simple as file just this once to get the stimulus.  You’ll need to do the streamline process and get back to a legal status.
