If you are on a visa that allows you to work, you can apply for a NINo. (knee no)
https://www.gov.uk/apply-national-insurance-number

This is what an employer must do. https://www.gov.uk/check-job-applicant-right-to-work

Report a change. https://www.gov.uk/change-circumstances-visa-brp

I don't know about the documents, wait for @ksand24 or @larrabee
Thanks! I applied for the NINo earlier today and it was the same link you provided.

Glad you clarified about the right to work link. I read the paper that came with the BRP and must have misunderstood.

I have that linked saved about updating information when you have a change of address. Good to know that's right.

Hopefully someone can clarify about the correspondence.

Thank you very much! I appreciate the help along the way  ;D

We have 2 different bank statements that come on paper monthly and my phone bill comes on paper monthly. The only other mail is from GP every few months. I have another question now that we are approved until 09/2025, what happens if we move? I am not sure if that would mean we need to gather correspondence from both addresses. Also, I am not sure how to report the change in address because we are planning to move this year or early next year.

It will depend on the timing of the move how much mail you need from each address. You would never have to have mail from both addresses in the same month so just provide it from the address you are living at at the time according to the 4 monthly spacing.

So you might have two joint pieces (or equivalent)  from the first address and all the rest from the new address, for example.

Oh okay, so for now we just gather all our mail regardless and figure out the spacing later on once we are applying to space the mail evenly. Thanks for clarifying!  :)

Is it this link to prove right to work? Getting a share code for the employer before or after an interview?

Re: FLR (M) Financial Requirements

Hello everyone!

I know it has been a long time, and it is not time for our 2nd FLR (M) as our visa does not expire until Sept 2025, but I have a question.

Am I correct in assuming for the final requirements, it is still £18,600? I have seen articles saying there are transitional arrangements for those such as us already on a settlement route and the financial requirements would remain the same throughout the process.

Can someone clarify or confirm if this is true?  :)

It's true. Your first application for the family route was before 11 April 2024 and therefore will remain on the old financial requirement of £18,600.

Financial requirements if you’re applying as a partner or spouse

If you apply for a family visa as a partner, you and your partner usually need to prove that your combined income is at least £29,000 a year.

This is called a ‘minimum income requirement’.

The financial requirements are different if either:

your partner is getting certain disability or carer’s benefits
you first applied as a partner before 11 April 2024 and you’re extending that visa - this includes if you first applied as a fiancé, fiancée or proposed civil partner

I was looking at several articles about the changes but I couldn't find it on the UK Gov. website. Thanks!

On a side note, I see there are returning members making new threads, are we still supposed to be continuing from our original thread (this one) when we return or would we make a new one?

We are currently collecting mail for the time period. If our FLR was granted Mar 21 2023 and Exp Sept 2 2025 would we start with March 2023 and space every 4 months? Also how many sources do we need, right now we recieve Joint Bank statements, Phone BIlls, Separate Bank Statement, GP Notices.

For example
March 2023, July 2023, November 2023, March 2024, July 2024, November 2024, March 2025, July 2025, November 2025?

This March 2024 thread on the  Advisories board "Important warnings and news about immigration rules and changes." has some gov.uk links on this too. https://talk.uk-yankee.com/index.php?topic=101263.0

Hello Everyone! Happy Holidays!

I just wanted some clarification as I prepare for our upcoming FLR (M) application. This is our second FLR application, and I want to ensure I understand what is required. The end date is 21 Sept 2025. Below are my questions and checklist, please correct me if I missed something. I want to plan to make sure I have the right correspondence.

Applicant Documents
My Old & New Passport
Cover Letter
Signed sponsor declaration (part of online application)
Consent to checks form Part 1 signed by the applicant (part of online application)
Consent to checks form Part 2 signed by the sponsor (part of online application)

7 months of bank statements the last statement within 28 days of applying (Mar 2025-Sept 2025)
letter from employer (within 28 days?)
Employment contract
p60 (2025)

Accommodation
Updated tenancy agreement
Landlord letter & email from city council stating we are not liable for council tax, the landlord is
tenant/housemate passport ID page

Correspondence
if the end date is 21 Sept 2025 and FLR was granted 21 March 2023
Which months should I be saving correspondence for?

Other
Marriage Certificate

Current fees & financial requirements:
£1258 FLR (M) application

Just a few quick questions for our upcoming FLR (M) expires 21/09/25.
  • Is my checklist accurate?
  • Do I need to scan my BRP from 2023 or is that irrelevant since everything is online now?
  • Is it just the bank statements, payslips, and employment letter that need to be within 21 days of the application date? his pay days 26th or 27th monthly and bank statements usually arrive the week prior.
  • What months should we be spacing our correspondence? March, August & Dec 2023, April, Sept, & Dec 2024, & Jan, May, Sept 2025?
  • Are the fees I listed right for our route since our application started before April 2025?

We will be applying in 2 months, any idea which date we should be applying, not to mess with the 5-year route, if our first FLR M expires 21st Sept 2025?
Also, can anyone advise regarding my previous post with questions & checklist? Any comments are very much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I just noticed it says for FLR M it would need 6 items of correspondence over the past 2 years although the visa was for 2.5yrs. So, would the spacing need to be more like every 4 months ? or does it need to cover 2.5yrs.

Does this look okay for correspondence ? We are not liable for council tax & rent includes all bills aside from phone bill which we pay separately

Mar 2023- NHS letter (me) or NIN letter (me) Bank Statement (him)

July 2023- Joint Bank or NHS letter (him) Phone Bill (me)

Nov 2023- Joint Bank Statement

Mar 2024- Joint Bank Statement

July 2024- Joint Bank Statement

Nov 2024- Hospital Letter (me) Bank Statement (him)

Mar 2025- Joint Bank Statement

July 2025- Joint Bank Statement
